Top tips for easy flea treatment application with my gorgeous assistant Lucy:
⭐ Put a thick blanket/towel down as a comfy, non-slip surface for them to stand on. This is especially important for older and arthritic cats!
⭐ Lift the cat onto a table or worktop for application - being in a slightly unusual place can help distract them from wiggling too much, and it's often easier to reach the back of their neck at this height.
⭐ Offer food/treats to distract them and focus their attention away from the spot-on, but be careful not to drip any flea treatment onto the food!
⭐ If a human assistant is available, ask them to help gently steady and distract the cat. If not, you may find it easier to position the cat facing away from you so you can steady their body with your arms whilst still easily reaching the back of the neck.
⭐ Afterwards, give treats and fuss for being so good, but avoid touching the treated area until it's dry.
✨ NB. All cats are individuals and while these tips work well for many cats, please use your best judgement, adjust accordingly for your own cat, and if in doubt consult your vet! ✨
