Last week was a busy week for something different! Brooke who is the official C**t starter for breeder Fox Lair Sport Horses headed to Tryon, NC for their Young Horse Show finals with some of their babies! She showed Alcyone Z FLP, a baby she has broken herself less than a year ago, under saddle where they finished 7th in the nation!

They also brought along two 2yo she is getting ready to break; Extra Olympia RV Z FLP and Coscada Hemo Z FLP, all of which finished in the top 10 in their classes with Coscada Hemo Z FLP finishing reserve champion in 2yo jump chute!

It was a great fun week away doing something very different! All the youngsters were rockstars and handled everything so well!

While we are away this weekend with family obligations and missing some races we are gearing up for a few more this season as well as one of our favorite venues the end of November! The ranch riding season may be over but we still have some cans to chase with the team!

It’s been busy but fun as we’ve been on the road the past couple weeks! Due to cancelled races we are actually home this weekend recouping from it all!

Last weekend Brooke and Boo Who Lolli headed to NC for the Da Bomb Finale. While they had some good runs finishing in the 3D all weekend they unfortunately came home empty handed but had an amazing time! The facility was great, the race ran smoothly, and of course good ground to top it off it was a fun successful weekend in NC!

It has been an incredibly busy few weeks for some of our teams, especially Brooke and Larry.

It started off with a final show at Rockin A to finish out their ranch season before championships. The pair went against some big classes in prep for KILE and managed to take home Reserves! It was a beautiful day and a great prep for championships.

Last weekend the pair headed to KILE for the ECRRA Championships. They had 20+ in their classes and despite the extremely tough competition managed to pin under the judges both Saturday and Sunday including a big personal win for them, 7th in ranch gelding halter out of 38!

This season has been a fun one and Larry is always a fan favorite. His heart is bigger than he is and now to see where they finish the end of the season after going into championships sitting 5th.

We are back on the road again this weekend instead to NC for the Da Bomb Finale with Boo!

This weekend is a big weekend for Brooke and Larry. The pair head to the ECRRA Championships to finish the season! The pair has had an amazing year currently sitting 5th against some of the best horses in the east coast.

It was an eventful day at the final crab pot show this past weekend.

It started off rough with one of our own teams having a bad fall during their run. During Maddy and One Tough Cookie’s run the ground didn’t hold her as she went to finish her turn giving way and causing them both to go down hard. We are incredibly thankfully both horse and rider are ok, sore and bruised but they are doing well!

Ember and Fire Breathin Dallas had some great runs winning the youth barrels and finishing second in poles and plug!

Brooke and One Ride in Vegas (owned by Allie) worked on a few things in their run having a nice smooth run to finish second in the open

It was a gorgeous weekend at the Speed Horse Bonanza and while Brooke and Boo had a couple rougher runs they still managed to walk away with some money in their pockets and a good chunk added to Boo’s LTE.

Their big goal going into the weekend was to qualify for the Da Bomb Finale in a few weeks which they managed to do! This month is super busy for the whole team as championships and finales approach!

It was a busy weekend up north where Brooke and Love in the Moonlite headed to NJ for the Jack of All Trades Ranch Show. They were up against some tough horses in big classes for the open but managed to hang in there to stay in the middle of the pack. They had some great runs and patterns as they prepare for championships later this month!

It was a busy but super successful weekend for the team!

Saturday night Brooke and Boo headed north for a night race at one of the best pens around. They ran their new personal best and hung in out of the money in the Open 3D and won the Adult 3D

Sunday all the girls competed at the Crab Pot Buckle Series! Brooke and One Ride in Vegas (owned by Allie M) won both Open barrels and Open plug. Ember and Fire Breathin Dallas won their youth barrels, 3rd open barrels, and had some high placings in the plug and poles! Maddy and One Tough Cookie had their second run where they fixed a lot of technicalities and had a smooth barrel run and tested some speed in the plug.

It was an amazing weekend all around and we are so proud of all riders and their horses!

We’d like to congratulate Brooke and Boo Who Lolli on a successful IBRA Season! The pair finished strong for the season despite limited hauling.

While the pair does not plan on competing at Nationals this year we are incredibly proud of what they have accomplished this season which started last August while Boo was out of competition. We look forward to seeing how they do for 2025!

It has been a busy few weekends as show seasons are coming to an end!

Brooke and Larry have been busy the past two weekends competing but with great success!! At the ESWHSA ECRRA full slate last weekend they took home Reserve Champ Open w/t and Champion Open w/j/l. This weekend at the MWHA ECRRA they took home Champion Open w/j and Reserve Champion w/j/l!

The team are currently sitting 5th in the ECCRA standings out of over 90+ horses up and down the coast!

It was a successful Saturday this past weekend at a local jackpot!

Brooke and Boo Who Lolli despite a wild 1st managed to finish in the Open 3D, 2nd Ladies 3D, and 2nd Jackpot 3D.

Brooke and One Ride In Vegas had their first run together finishing 3rd Open 4D and winning the ladies 4D. Vegas is owned by student Allie who is recovering from an injury!

One Tough Cookie and her new owner Maddy had their first race only after a few weeks of riding and won the Youth 4D!

It was a great day with great horses and people!

The good mares I know breathe fire in the face of challenge and then somehow, miraculously, know to quiet themselves when a timid child is plopped on their back for a pony ride.

They are clever, cunning and calculated, which can be your greatest enemy or your saving grace. The good mares I know do not tolerate egotistical riding. They do not tolerate force. They demand tact, finesse and emotional control. But once you have won a mare’s heart, you have won all of her. In exchange for your best—and nothing less—she will give you everything.”

Something important to remember. While ribbons, money, and titles are nice to win and earn it’s the learning and growing along the way that really is what’s important!

Ribbons are lovely mementos and symbols, but be careful... when you allow ribbons to tell you if you have done a good job, then their absence will try to tell you that it was bad. And that is never the whole story.

Although one mistake can deny you a ribbon, one mistake cannot negate the positive growth, teamwork and joy that exists in every single ride. Always carry your own goals and progress closest to your heart.
