With kitten season upon us, we urgently needed foster carers.

We are solely foster based, without foster carers we are unable to operate.

We need carers who are able to travel to one of our vets for appointments
● Salisbury
● Elizabeth Park
● Elizabeth East

Food is supplied or reimbursed if you wish ( this can be discussed ) along with litter

All vetwork is paid for by us

ARC Adelaide are currently running a fundraiser to help keep the Adelaide hub open.

ARC provides Rescues, wildlife shelters and outreach programs with much needed food so none of us have to pay for it ( unless it's a special diet ) that way our money can go into veterinary care other rescues bills.

ARC Adelaide have helped us now they need our help.
They need to pay transport plus storage for each load of food they get in.

Over 5 months in care, 1 failed adoption, 3 failed meet and greets ( none pippins fault ) Pippin is officially our longest resident in our 11 years of running.

BUT.........

Pippin went on adoption trial Saturday, as you can tell by the photos she has made herself quite at home.

Pippins new adoptive family say:
" Pip is doing really well. She is so so sweet and gorgeous and loves my 16 yr old daughter. She is her little shadow 😁 "

We can't thank Kirsty and family enough for allowing Pip into their home and giving her the chance she truly deserves.

ON ADOPTION TRIAL

5-6 year old Jack Russell x chihuahua

✅️Upto date flea and worm treatment

✅️Fantastic with children
✅️Good with cats once she knows them
❌️NOT good with other dogs

✅️Takes her medication with no issues

Pippin is on anxiety medication to help her trust, and it is working. Adopters must keep her on these.

Adopters must realise Pippin takes time to engage in interaction. This isn't a 15minute or 1 hour thing, it is going to take time.

Pippin will be alright to go to a home with male humans in it we have tested this, she seems alot less stressed now.

Pippin needs a quite home, a home where humans aren't going to force her for attention, this happens in her own time and her pace. Once Pippin trusts you, you will have a best friend and lap warmer.

We have no idea what has happened in pippins life but she is 1000% better then when she arrived in care.

We have been keeping a secret 🙊

Last weekend pippin had a meet and greet with a lovely lady named Jenny.
It all went really well
Pippin went up and sniffed her hand and just yawned ( normally she wouldn't do that and would just bark )

Friday was her 2nd meet with Jenny this time Mel left pip with Jenny for half an hour to see how she would go without her being there. Mel came back to pip sitting on jenny's lap 🥹
Jenny even said she almost got kiss.

Today pippin has started her trial.

Thank you jenny for allowing pippin into your home and heart.
We know she will make you very happy as you will her.

A little bit more about Miss Pip

I have had a bit of a rough trot and I find it really hard to trust, but once I do, I promise I will be your best friend and sweetest lap dog you have ever met.

I would like my new family to be possibly an older female person who is home to spend their days cuddling with me. I also don’t like alot of new people so I don’t work well with a lot of chaos and people coming around.
I am now on medication to help me with this and I have been feeling a lot better but I still have some way to go…
I am very well house trained and crate trained, in fact I do prefer my crate when I’m scared or want to sleep. My foster mum says I’m the sweetest most obedient foster she’s ever had!
I just know I have so much love to give and hoping to meet the perfect person to spend my days laying on your lap getting pats and hanging out.

I love small children, it’s all the bigger ones that make me uncomfortable. Also I don’t like other dogs so best none of them, but I could live with a cat, they are fun to chase but I dont want to hurt them…

Mel will also bring her to the potential adopters home for the meet and greets so she can get to know her surroundings.

Pippin update

Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since pippin has been on the anxiety medication.

Mel has said she has noticed a difference already, she still barks at people who come to the home but she is less fearful and more relaxed.

Pippin update

Last Thursday pippin had all her vetwork done.
Mel took her to the vets around 12pm to be with her till she was sedated since we didn't know how she would go around people she didn't know.

She decided sedation wasn't for her and was fighting really hard to stay awake.

She is doing really well and is healing very nicely.

While at the vets Mel asked about what we can do to help pippin with her anxiety with people so we are currently trialling a low dose anti anxiety tablet.

Anyone new she meets she just barks at them until they leave.

We have no idea what pippin has been through, I just wish we could communicate with them somehow so we can know what is going on.

Pippin is a very happy girl around her people that she feels comfortable with, she will make someone very happy once she gains trust in them.

She isnt available yet but once she is we will be looking for a home that won't rush her she will need space to settle, we might have to do multiple visits so she can get used to the potential adopter ( food and treats help )

As you all know ARC have supported us for years with food donations aswell as other goodies for all our animals that come into our care.

They support hundreds of rescues all around Australia.
They are the lifeline to alot of rescues.

They are in need of our support to help pay for transport to get the much needed food to where it is needed plus storage costs.

Along with every other charity donations have dried up, but this charity is vital to help keep hungry mouths fed.

ARC don't get paid to do this they are all volunteers.

I have set up a fundraiser with them on behalf of hope for life. I have started with a donation of $200 out of my own personal money.
Their support is so valuable to us.
