Come on folks there are still places left on the Fun Trial on the 1st September. I've seen some cracking dogs in my Workshops who would be ace at this. There will be tea/coffee and cakes and an opportunity to do some training afterwards for those that want to.

Component Levels 1-3

The first lot of Workshops Foundations and Foundations plus cover all the basics of Trail Hunt after that we move onto the exciting stuff, with three levels of components. Here is a list of what the components are.

Level 1, High Pod, Back Trails, Distractions, Gap in the Trail, Multiple pods on the Trail, Gates/Barriers, Odour Pools, No Odour Indication, Finding the Start of the Trail.

Level 2, Water finds, Second Odour, Buried Finds, Distraction Odour (Split Trails), Distraction Odour, (End of Trail), Door Entries, Multi Odour Trail, Hidden Pod.

Level 3, Switching Trails, Moving Pod, Enticing Humans, Ages Trails, Night Trails, Double Odour Split Trails, Elevated Trails, Variable Odour Strength Trail, Odour Burst Trails.

Just wanting to gauge how much interest I'd have in holding Rapid Run events. You basically run your dog over a 100 metre timed course, the time then gets converted to mph, which the earns you points to go towards titling your dog. You would have to register your dog if you want to work towards titles which is £15.00. You can also run for fun. I'd aim to do one or two training sessions a month and then a competition every other month. This is being trialled down in Kent at the moment and I'm hoping to have it up and running here in a couple of months. More information coming soon. There will also be other games type classes. All dogs will be run one at a time and any breed can take part.

Beginner Scentwork Classes Starting on the 3rd September 6.30 till 8pm. Then every week for the following 5 weeks. Limited to 6 handlers and dogs. Dogs will be worked one at a time so suitable for reactive dogs. Price will include a mini starter kit and membership to the Enigma Canine Scentwork Partnership Scheme where you will receive a membership card and booklet which you can work through to gain achievements and grades and a certificate upon completion. Held at the Barn, Poplars Farm, Hay A Park, Knaresborough. HG5 0RH. Cost £90.00

I ran two of my dogs on the same trail today adding multiple components from Level 1 in. On this trail they had 3 pods to find one placed up high, a gap in the trail and a short back trail on multi surface terrain. Blue is where I walked red is where dogs went.
