Upton at nearly 11 enjoying his Trail Hunt International foundations 1-1 today.
Just wanting to gauge how much interest I'd have in holding Rapid Run events. You basically run your dog over a 100 metre timed course, the time then gets converted to mph, which the earns you points to go towards titling your dog. You would have to register your dog if you want to work towards titles which is £15.00. You can also run for fun. I'd aim to do one or two training sessions a month and then a competition every other month. This is being trialled down in Kent at the moment and I'm hoping to have it up and running here in a couple of months. More information coming soon. There will also be other games type classes. All dogs will be run one at a time and any breed can take part.
Barn Hunt Fun Trial. 1st Srptember 10am start. £20 for 3 runs, Instinct, Novice and Line Drive. Must have done Barn Hunt Workshop with myself or another Instructor to take part. Dogs do not need to be registered as no progression. Rosettes for all who find the rat and go clear and special rosettes for the fastest time in Instinct, Novice and Line Drive. Trail Hunt International is a relatively new sport in the Uk, where the dog must follow the aniseed trail to find the pod at the end. There are many benefits to Trail Hunt and I have listed a few below.
🐾Can practice on your own between lessons. 🐾 Mentally and physically enriching for your dog (10 minutes of trail hunt is equivalent to an hours walk. 🐾Only 4 dogs per workshops so that dogs can be worked one at a time so suitable for reactive dogs🐾Any breed and size can take part, very low impact. 🐾 No running for handlers.🐾After foundations workshops you can practice anywhere and at any time. 🐾Work towards achievement tests, grade tests and trials (Online and in person trials coming in 2025) 🐾Join a supportive social community. 🐾Trails laid and run are appropriate to you and your dog. 🐾Harness and 10metre line is all the equipment you need.
If you require anymore information or are unsure if your dog is suitable please message me.

Today I got back to training my own dogs for Trail Hunt International, this is something I am going to be teaching once I do all my practical work and pass my assessments. Here's a few videos it's still early days but they will soon be doing proper trails. I love the fact you don't need a misper to be able to do this and you can train anywhere.
This is this dogs first go at Barn Hunt, I've never seen her so motivated. Think we can safely say she likes it. Lots of work to do but such a good start.
Hubby's been busy clearing a space in the barn today ready for workshops. 🙂
