🐾 February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month! 🐾

Spaying and neutering is one of the most important ways we can prevent pet overpopulation and reduce the number of animals entering shelter and rescues. All month long, we’ll be sharing important facts about why spay/neuter matters—for pets, for people, and for our community.

Did you know? One unspayed cat and her offspring can produce over 1,000 kittens in just a few years! 🐱💔 Fixing just one pet can stop generations of unwanted litters.

As always, our Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program is available for Jefferson Parish pet residents—helping cats, dogs, rabbits, and even male guinea pigs! 🐶🐱🐰🐹

Caturday cat fact from our friends Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter 😺😻🐾

EVERYDAY IS CATURDAY!

Did you know that less than a decade ago, 80% of all cats impounded in Lafourche Parish were killed? It's a dark stain on our record, but we're thankful to report that in 2023, the save rate for cats in Lafourche Parish was the highest it's ever been ➡ 94%
This is only possible with the support of the community and ongoing spay/neuter efforts for ALL owned and community cats!

So, let's celebrate the tipped and snipped and help us educate about all things CAT!

These sweet babies need a new home 😻. Their owner is not well and no longer able to care for them. Please spread the word ♥️🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

You made nearly TWO HUNDRED shares to help Scarlett and Tracy find a new home. Thank you! Unfortunately their situation is urgent, and despite all the shares we haven’t had anyone contact us about them. Can we ask for your help again?

Their owner has developed dementia, and the house in New Orleans where they’re still living is being sold.

The gray kitty, Scarlett, is 10 years old and is friendly and lovable. Calico Tracy is 9 years old and is a little more shy than Scarlett but still very loving when she gets to know you.

Both cats are spayed and urgently need to be loved and cherished.
