When taking your furr babies to the beach, there are some dangers you should be aware of:
๐Sand impaction is a real problem if your furr baby accidentally eats sand when digging, picking up sandy toys with the mouth may cause a blockage in the intestine.
๐ฆฎ Swimming in the sea is very dangerous for your furr babies, they may be swept away by the strong currents or may drown if they become too tired to swim. Large waves which can tumble them are also a hazard.
๐โ๐ฆบ Watch out for dead fish. If your dog tries to eat a dead fish that may have washed up on the beach, they could become really sick. The dead fish can be poisonous, or rotten.
๐ฉ The Heat and sun ray's In the Summer are dangerousfor your little pup. They could burn their paws on hot sand, get sunburn or become overexerted because of the heat. Dogs with white fur, shorter hair or pink ears are especially susceptible to sunburn, please consider using a sunscreen made for dogs, or a thin sun jacket.
๐ถ Be vigilant of Foreign objects! Jellyfish and bluebottles will seriously hurt your dog, so keep a look out for them. Also be cautious of discarded fish hooks, as your dog could accidentally step on one and injure their paws. They could also think it's food and swallow the fish hook, If you think your dog has swallowed a fish hook, contact your vet immediately. The hook can do serious damage and must be removed surgically as quickly as possible.
