SCNR has several dogs needing to come into foster care, and we are in desperate need of available foster homes.
Whether you have not fostered before, or have fostered many times in the past, PLEASE consider becoming one of our foster homes! Without foster homes, we cannot serve these Newfs in need.
Even if you have already done so in the past, please go to our website and fill out an application: www.scnewfrescue.org
Any and all applications will be appreciated, and you are welcome to indicate what kinds of problems you are/aren't willing to manage.

LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED FOSTER
for a hard-headed yet gentle 8 year old boy. He chases donkeys and horses, but not chickens, ducks or goats. He prefers staying outdoors and loves playing in his kiddie pool. He has some arthritis and can be a bit of a grumpy guy, but we think he just needs a stable, loving home without young kids, and he may prefer men to women.

Community Social Activities: Get ready for tail-wagging fun! We're adding social activities where you can meet fellow Newfoundland enthusiasts and share your love for these incredible dogs.

Incentives for Foster Families: We'll be introducing Welcome-to-Fostering packets helpful tips as well as fun merch for people and dogs! We will also be offering ongoing support (think mentorship) for people who have not fostered before or who would like to have a little guidance while fostering.

Increased Social Media Presence: We will be adding SCNR to more social media platforms so you can follow us and keep up with the newest activity.

Website Overhaul: A fresh new look is coming your way! Our updated website will make it easier than ever to learn about adoption opportunities, volunteer with us, and support our cause.

🆘🆘🆘🆘 This is an EMERGENCY Nelson has escaped his foster home. He knocked them down and bolted out the door. If you are in or around I am in Manistique Michigan please keep a look out. Cops shelter, for department, pound, vets and police have been notified. He has been posted in Facebook groups. He is friendly and loves people

SCNRescue is looking for volunteers! Fosters in the Indiana and nearby areas are top of our list but we could also use volunteers to help with applications, Communications, Home Checks, Transports and transport organizers, dog assessment etc. All things rescue! If you have time and an interest we could use some dependable help. Rescue is not for the short term volunteer but we are trying to get more people involved to give others a much needed break.

We at South Central Newfoundland Rescue are sad to share that a long time friend to the organization has passed. Tom Lesparance, of Lebanon, Indiana, was a volunteer, newfie owner, and kind-hearted man. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Eddie was a "greeter" dog today at Dull's Tree Farm Newfoundland Dog Day tree pull. Eddie isn't old enough to pull in trees, but he does a FINE job schmoozing with the public for tips that go to support South Central Newfoundland Rescue!

It’s that time of year and rescue never stops.

Dog number 1: UPDATE - On Hold with Foster Family for Now
If you have room for a boy who seems to believe he needs no fury friends please let us know. He needs a secure fence and no other pets as soon as possible. He is located in southern Indiana. Can be kenneled if any available.

Dog number 2:
Then we need a home for a special needs boy who does love everybody and other pets. He is handicapped with only three legs. We are still gathering info on him but his situation is urgent as well. Located in Indiana.

The Christmas Tree Pull at Dull's Tree Farm will be December 2 & 3!
You still have time to make/gather items to donate for our fundraiser sale, so put on those thinking caps and let's try to make this year's Tree Pull the most successful yet!
If you haven't been before, we highly recommend you put it on your calendar and attend! There are dozens of dogs, plenty of happy people, trees, wreaths and many other Christmas items for purchase both at Dull's and our fundraiser tent! Join us!

WE HAVE A FOSTER HOME! For this pretty 5-year-old girl. She likes to think of herself as an alpha girl so we'd like to place her in a foster home with no other animals so we can assess her personality. She's in a home now with a baby that makes her feel uncomfortable. She's fine with big kids and adults. She's in Central Indiana but we can arrange transport to the right foster family. Hello Newfie friends! We have several needs for foster homes in the Indiana and nearby areas within the next two weeks. Several needs for dogs who are very sweet but do not know a whole lot as they have lived in poor outdoor conditions. They are now learning that air conditioning is a really good thing. All are still intact and we will work with your Vet on getting them spayed/neutered. We cover all Vet care but need to approve ahead and will pay directly to your vet over the phone.

We are in need of a foster for a 3-3 1/2 year old spayed female who’s down on her luck and we can change that. Please let us know if you are available. She is currently in SE Indiana.

Need to add she is probably not good with cats. She seems ok with other dogs but we do not know for sure. We would prefer no tiny dogs.

Just click on the link below and be a member of the group." Well, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Spam update!
Please know we do not have ANY fundraising happening right now. The spam that was selling shirts with our logo was unauthorized and has been reported to the vendor who they were using. We suspect this person is Carl eating multiple identities and may be back so please report immediately anything you see as unusual. We are trying to track down who it is and have banned all tje other identities. Thank you for your patience, we will keep after this!

Two more newfs learned to pull a cart today! Kobe and Moose did great, and we look forward to seeing them at this year's Tree Pull on Dec 3 & 4. If you'd like your dog to help us raise funds by pulling trees but your newf doesn't know how, let us know and we can set up a training session!
