Just a reminder that today Thursday 30/1/25 is our last day of breeding this season. We are still available for stallion collections and pregnancy scans by appointment only. Thanks to all our great clients for another huge season - good luck to all those involved with the nutrien classic!

So we can sense spring and summer in the not too distant future, and with it comes breeding season (and the flies will probably be in force this year)! So we thought we’d give a little update.

1) we WILL be doing Embryo Transfer work this year. Our recip mares will be prioritised for our existing clients.
2) our updated price list will be on our website (hagonsequine.com.au) shortly
3) we will have a small number of mares available as foster mares should the need arise.

Just a quick note to all our clients - if you could be all ears please…(Thankyou for your attention Pugsley, our little mule menace!)
We are finishing up for this breeding season. Our last full day will be Wednesday the 31st January. If anyone requires scans after Wednesday (for pregnancy scans etc - no new breed preparations), we will still be available BY APPOINTMENT only until 12/2/24 or after 20/2/24. Today Hagons Equine welcomed a home bred mule into the family. Out of Mains Mortitia by Diamond Creek Moon-watcher (Moses). Formal name pending (although his Poppy has christened him Pugsley in the Addams Family tradition)
Took about an hour to get the strength to lift his ears up - and aren’t they a fashion statement!
He’s had most of the family visit him for family snaps today, and he and mum were happy to meet everyone. He’s working on his mule kick, although it’s a bit soft and welcoming at the moment….
In addition, he’s warming up his singing voice to bray the night’s away - a true neighbours’ joy in the making.

We’re again seeking single (equine) ladies for our recipient mare program. Ideally we are after good-doing mares under 12 years of age. Preferably Standardbreds (and preferably not thoroughbreds…sorry), but all applicants considered. So if you have mares that you want to move-on, I can assure you they’ll be very well cared for (including regular re**al and gynaecological examinations), and we pay for them (not very well, but we do pay).

We are very proud of our in-house stallions this year which welcomes Allinghams Black Magic to the existing team of Amac Drydust and Metallic Storm. Stormy and Drydust are available whenever your mare is ready, and Black Magic is currently scheduled to arrive after Warwick Gold Cup. It’s looking like a big breeding season so please contact the owners ASAP for bookings.
