⚠Beginning Monday, April 22, the Deschutes National Forest road crew plans to conduct maintenance on the Phil’s Trailhead parking lot. Maintenance activities will include adding additional rock material and fixing potholes.
⛔️Starting Monday and continuing throughout the maintenance work, Phil’s Trailhead parking lot will be closed to all traffic, including vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. Parking will not be allowed along Forest Service Road 4604 above the green gate to allow hauling of material and passage of heavy equipment.
Maintenance operations are slated to last at least a week, but could be longer if weather or conditions change. Any breaches to the closed area could delay operations and extend the closure.
✅Forest Service Road 4604, which provides access to Phil’s Trailhead will remain open. Parking will be available south of Phil’s Trailhead. Ben’s, Kent’s and Phil’s Trail will remain open and can be accessed via Marvin’s Garden.

Another Wonderful Saturday at Wanoga - 40 degrees, 2’ new snow and beautifully sunny! This is the LAST DAY for GROOMING and DOG POOH PICKUP! Jerry is just completing the groom, the snow is silky and soft, great way to end the Season! PLEASE REMEMBER TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PET and take your Pooh bag with you… We the volunteers and the Forest Service appreciate it!

Our Wanoga Grooming Season is coming to an END-Saturday, MARCH 30. As of that date, all trash cans and Pooh bags will be picked up and trash removal by the Forest service will cease. If you‘re X/C skiing with your canine buddy in April, PLEASE bring your own bags and take them with you.

Today was the first day the temps at Wanoga were in the low 60’s. Great temperatures also expose extensive dog droppings. Please use the bags provided If you see one please scoop the p**p even if your dog wasn’t the culprit! The trailhead needs everyone’s help!

Saturday at WANOGA DOG PARK found all sorts people and their costumes-this family took best in SHOW! Benji the Corgi with googles was most notable.

TODAY @ noon-someone handed in a Training Dog Collar to us at Wanoga. It was found on FS Road #4614/right behind Wanoga Dog Park/either a skier or Fat Tire Biker lost this DOG’S collar. If yours identify/ text me @541-508-6564 for return.

Another glorious and fun filled day at Wanoga dog park this AM. Everyone enjoyed the sunny day , temperature, and snow conditions. The furry four legged pooches had the best time!

Eric, another one of the Wanoga groomers had his work cut out Sunday morning-blowing snow, limited visibility and heavy duty gusts! He created groomed and tracked conditions only losing the trails a couple of times. We’re just unsure how long they’ll last with these current conditions-hoping you’re hardy and the canine has good trail sense. Next groom is Tuesday….

TODAY’S Groomer Extraordinaire-“Jay” worked expertly with the new additional 8“ snow this morning on the trails of Wanoga! They’re smooth, level and soft so your dog will have an an amazing time off leash following your antics on skis. Today’s conditions were perfect.

For Sunday, 3 Mar these 2 were voted BEST Dressed for their “Windy but Wonderful WANOGA Dog Park outing!” Snow is great, grooming is complete for Weekend with all trails making all the dogs, kids and skiers very happy.

Today at Wanoga beautiful conditions 6-8” of new snow, trackpacked and rolled all trails. FOUND while Grooming-a women’s Oregon driver's license. I will be grooming tomorrow (8-11 AM) and have the license in my possession. Please contact me @541-508-6564 for exchange.

Wanoga - drive by - update. Lots of fresh snow, drove by on way down from Bachelor about noon, and the temp was up to about 33 degrees. Snow is probably very soft.

AS of 2 February all grooming operations at Wanoga are (hopefully) temporarily suspended until we have 12-18 inches of snow to replace all that has melted. We will update here when conditions improve.

LAST Day of January found Wanoga snow conditions more like the end of March! Exposed stumps, a lot of debris on trails and limited snow coverage in spots. Groomed early didn’t have ample coverage for track setting, by noon surface was Less than ideal. Snow is melting fast- as evidenced by sign below-it was completely covered 10 days ago!
