The first animal to orbit Earth, Laika launched in 1957 on the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2. She was a stray dog from Moscow. Laika's flight was intended to test if dogs could survive in weightlessness and in orbit. However, sadly, she died between five and seven hours into the flight.

This week I would like to share another local small business. Recently I had the pleasure of attending a quilting class held by Roxanne owner of Whitecotton Quilts. She focuses on Longarm quilting services, but she also designs and sells her own quilt patterns! She hopes to open her own quilt shop in the future. Everyone can follow Whitecotton Quilts on facebook, and instagram at whitecotton_quilts and now on TikTok as Whitecotton Quilts! She is very knowledgeable about the whole quilting process. I highly recommend attending her classes in the future.
