It’s hard to write this, but our faithful companion of 12 years passed away the night of January 30. I can’t be sad for Wally, as he did not suffer long, and he certainly led a charmed life as one of our Family: He enjoyed the beaches of Southern California, the mountains of Colorado, he travelled to Yellowstone twice to see the wildlife and particularly loved the buffalo, he travelled cross-country a total of 14 times with his Dad, more than anyone I know. And he gave way more than he got: a lean-in from Wally was always a treat, as were the hugs he let the residents of Kessler Rehab give him when his Mom took him on therapy dog visits. I never thought I could miss a dog so much, but he will always be the highest example of a faithful companion. Rest in peace, Boy, rest in peace.
