Dora the Explorer (2005-2021)

Time has moved so fast as it is known to do.

It was only yesterday that it was 2005 and an animal rescue in
Richmond, VA said they had Hurricane Katrina rescue dogs.
Dora was the shyest puppy you have ever met at 4 months
old. As she came home in a Ford Explorer at the time her
name was quickly born as Dora the Explorer!

Dora was the most loyal animal one can imagine.
Through her 16+ years, she loved her romps and hikes at
Hardscrabble K**b in West Augusta, VA; the Northern Neck;
the trails of Tuscarora, PA; Dolly Sods, WV; the C&O Canal;
Manassas Battlefield Park, and myriad other parks and
locations around Washington, DC.

Her best pals on hikes in the early years were Frankie and Mike. In later years, she loved going hiking and camping with pals Max and Paul. She also loved her long summer visits up north to spend time with Marilyn, where treats, walks and relaxation were the order of
the day!

Dora will be missed but she is always with us as a reminder of what real kindness is.
