UPDATE: Lancelot (now Hugo) is settling in well in his new forever home! He's getting lots of love, walks and continued training. We can't wait to se him and his new family at HCNC events this summer!

Beautiful, sweet boy Lancelot is available for foster or adoption (again). He has anxiety, but he’s such a lover. He needs a CALM home with an experienced large breed owner. Preferably no other dogs or kids, but cats are ok (as long as they’re not geriatric or have their own space to retreat to). We will encourage and pay for continued obedience training to help Lance gain confidence and improve manners. Being fostered in Morrison, CO right now recovering from neutering.

Sweet Willow is still looking for her foster or forever home where she can be the center of attention! Loves people and is happy to meet other dogs on walks but doesn't want them or cats as roommates. She got to go out to breakfast with her foster mom yesterday and was happy to get all the pets people wanted to give her. This 4 year old girl is well-trained on leash and follows many commands.

Anyone who wants to see one of the cool working dog activities you can do with your Newfie should go to the HCNC Draft Test tomorrow or Sunday! Starts at 8am at Fairmount Park., 5222 Quaker Street, Golden, CO. Watch the Newfs and other breeds pulling draft carts and socialize with their owners, judges & club members (there will be snacks!)

Willow is available for adoption! She did not get along with her foster's cat, so she is now ready to meet her new forever family.
This beautiful 4 year old girl is looking for a new home where she can be the center of attention. She loves her people and children, but not so much other doggie roommates. She is spayed, house broken and knows many commands. Please contact us if you are interested in making this sweet girl your only pet in foster or adoption.

Lancelot is the biggest sweetie! This boy needs a foster or adopter to give him the home he deserves. He's been in training at Under the Sun Dog Training in Colorado Springs and just rocking it! No reason he can't go to a home with doggie siblings with proper introductions and continued training (HCNC will cover cost). If you'd like to go visit and meet Lance let us know! We have recently taken in 3 year old Lancelot to rescue. Our dog trainer/behaviorist is currently evaluating him for us this week. He's super sweet but a little shy. May need to be placed in a foster or adopter home without other dogs. If you haven't already, please fill out a foster or adopter application with us if you are interested in Lance or any other newfies we take in. Owner decided to keep Jetta
Jetta! This Newfoundland is 3 years old and in need of a new home. Jetta is really good with other dogs, people and kids, cats unknown. She is leash trained and crate trained and knows the commands sit, stay, down, heel and come. She LOVES being next to her humans and doesn’t like being left outside alone. Jetta is so gentle and loving. Her current family will be traveling for 3 months and feel they can’t give her the live she deserves. UPDATE: BRUNO HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

High Country Newfoundland Club Rescue Network is taking this happy 2 year old newfie boy Bruno into rescue. He likes kids, dogs and cats. He will need some training to learn not to jump up to greet people (and not get so excited that he pees). Both habits can be corrected with consistent training. He is a big boy at 170 pounds, but will benefit from a little diet, much to his dismay. His family has had him from 10 weeks old but due to financial and family circumstances are unable to keep him. He knows several commands, walks well on leash and is crate trained. As a teenage boy, he needs to be taught some manners and will benefit from obedence classes. He is not neutered yet but is at the appropriate age for it to be done now.

Hi Friends! I wanted to share an important update on High Country Newfoundland Rescue. Recently it was decided to officially reconnect this rescue with High Country Newfoundland Club. We are now the High Country Newfoundland Club Rescue Network, a committee within HCNC. It’s just an entity change after the state of Colorado introduced new laws which make it challenging to operate as a separate rescue organization that is foster-based (not a brick and mortar shelter). As far as you, our supporters, volunteers, fosters and potential adopters are concerned, the only major change is that we are no longer a 501c3, so your donations are not tax deductible. If you are donating a large enough amount to help your taxes, I strongly encourage you to donate to Newfoundland Club of America’s Charitable Trust, who will also be supporting us when needed. However, we need all the donations and volunteers we can get too! We still cover Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. Our mission is to rescue and place purebred Newfoundlands in their best forever home. We appreciate your continued support. (And watch this space for a sweet girl we have coming into rescue with us soon!)
