What is a Human-Grade Kitchen?

It’s a facility that meets standards required for making food you’d eat yourself!

To be considered human-grade, kitchens must follow strict regulations from authorities like the FDA and health departments:

🧼 Sanitation & Hygiene: Equipment, surfaces, and utensils are sanitized, with staff following strict hygiene protocols

🥦 Ingredient Sourcing: Only ingredients fit for human consumption are allowed

❄️ Storage: Proper temperature and humidity
are maintained to preventing spoilage and contamination.

🛡️ Pest Control: Effective programs in place to prevent pests in the building

🔥 Food Handling: Employees follow strict guidelines for cooking temperatures and preventing cross-contamination

✅ Inspections & Licensing: These kitchens are licensed and regularly inspected by local health authorities to ensure compliance

In pet food, human-grade means that both the ingredients and the kitchen meet the same standards as human food production. We’ve gone further and registered our kitchen with the FDA too

5 years ago, I took the leap and started feeding Benson fresh food. I was nervous and unsure — after all, I’d always done what I thought was best, feeding him top kibble! But Benson wasn’t thriving, and I knew something had to change.

Discovering The Forever Dog book by Dr. Becker and Rodney Habib gave me the confidence to trust my gut and make the switch 🌿

Now, 5 years later, Benson’s positive transformation has inspired me to share Benson’s bowls with other pet parents everywhere.

Thank you, and for educating and encouraging so many of us to take that leap of faith to help our dogs thrive!
