Happy Friday!!! Everyone give Finley some love! Fin is an anxious girl that has trouble being anywhere but home with mom. She doesn’t like strangers, especially men. Fin was with us for 3 weeks! Let’s see how she did!

Sammy is a 10 month old pitty puppy who was found in Detroit, changed up and abandoned with his mom. He was rescued by Hanks Heros and placed with a foster. After his first set of vaccines, two vet professionals recommended behavioral euthanasia for him as he was showing signs of extreme aggression. His foster was the only one who could get him out of a kennel and Sammy would become extremely reactive to strangers. Sammys foster, at that point became a foster fail 😜 While Sammy was finally home, they needed help. Sammy spent 3 weeks with us at At Whits End for behavior modification and obedience training. We took Sammy home this weekend and started teaching his new dad how to utilize his training. We are happy to say dad reported this morning, Sammy was doing amazing! Welcome to your new life, Sammy!! We could not be happier for the love, life and freedoms you have finally found. Check back to see how Sammy and his Dad progress as we move lessons into public!!

Mac is a high energy Cattledog whose favorite thing is to chase squirrels! 🐿️ Mom and Dad say they can’t walk him more than a block because the reactivity to squirrels wears everyone out. Mac spent 3 weeks with us learning how to keep focus and follow commands. He went home this morning! Let’s see how he did! His take home is at the end!

Cleo is a beautiful Cattledog with severe anxiety and fear reaction. Her parents wanted a better life for her, so they called At Whits End. Let’s check out her stay from beginning to end and watch her confidence grow!

Putting a dog down and condemning them to death because you refuse to use any method that isn't "positive only" isn't very positive...

Sedating a dog into a zombie because you don't like other training tools isn't very positive...

Restricting a dog to a confined life without the chance to thrive isn't very positive...

Telling someone to put down their 8 month old working line dog for having lots of energy and acting like an 8-month-old working dog isn't very positive...

Guilting a young family that lives in an apartment into adopting a large dog with behavior issues isn't very positive...

Telling an older lady their dog would be better off dead then using a prong collar that helps her walk and control her dog isn't very positive....

Bashing other trainers because they don't train dogs using only one method isn't very positive...

Having an owner put a 5 month old puppy on 400mg of trazadone isn't very positive...

Harming dogs because of your own ego isn't very positive...

All of the things I just listed are REAL things that owners have dealt with by "certified positive only trainers and behaviorists."

Anyone can be certified online for $50. It means nothing.

Dogs and their humans deserve real trainers who care and emphasize for both ends of the leash. Trainers who will tailor training to each dog in front of them. Don't be fooled by the "positive" sounding approach. That's just fancy marketing from people who care more about their ego and lining their pockets rather than helping the dog community.

I've chosen to speak out on this because I care and hate seeing dogs harmed. The positive only cult is doing more harm than good to dogs. Dogs and owners that are already having a difficult time. Enough is enough.

You can get your Bacon & Toast Leash Company treats this weekend at the St Clair shores Social District and Sage Creek Fall Fest 🍁🎃🍷✨. You won’t want to miss out on this shareable pup treat! Limited availability!

The 1st order for the new treat is in!

The Bacon & Toast Leash Company treat is delicious.

Slab bacon is cut to the desired thickness for candied bacon.

Then pure maple is brushed on the bacon.

A light dusting of cinnamon tops it before it is racked and baked / smoked. It is dehydrated after baking and smoking for stable shelf storage for events and mailing .

It is made for your pup as always - with you being able to share. We would never feed your babies something you can't eat. A treat you will want to share.

No additives. The bacon is from Cattleman's Meat & Produce . The quality is pawfect !

Say hello to our newest set of board and trains! Baby is a 9 month old St Bernard with us for 10 days to work on general obedience. Ducati is a 4 month old Cane Corso who is with us for our puppy to adult program, so we will be working with him several different times over the next 2 years. We can’t wait to watch him grow and transform! And Henny is a reactive blue pitty who needs some obedience work and to learn how to ignore other dogs and some people! We’ll check in tomorrow to see how everyone is doing!

Judge went home yesterday! Judge is a gorgeous, 2 year old Shepherd. While he is an amazing boy with all of his commands in the house (thanks to our in home training program), his parents were still having trouble on walks and in public when other dogs were around and distractions were high. He’s such a big strong boy, he pulled his mom to the ground and she got hurt. We couldn’t have that!! He came to us for 10 days to work on his reactivity during walks and in public. Let’s see how he did! Watch til the end to see how his mom does when he gets home!!!
