๐Gastric ulcers are a common complaint affecting both pleasure and competition horses.
๐Clinical signs can be very variable ranging from dislike of tightening the girth, teeth grinding, dull coat, and lack of condition to poor performance and mild-moderate colic. The only way to definitively diagnose gastric ulcers is to pass a video endoscope into the stomach under standing sedation.
๐If you would like to rule out gastric ulcers in your horse or pony then please contact us to book your space.

Gastroscopy is an important imaging technique used by vets to visualise the inside of your horse's stomach. Gastric ulcers are a common cause of pain and discomfort in horses and can be a cause of poor performance in all equines.
If you would like to rule out Gastric ulcers in your horse we have a couple of spaces left on our Gastroscopy clinic on the 27th February at a discounted rate!

If your horse suffers with Sweet Itch in the summer, now is the time to act!
Last year we vaccinated a number of horses with the licensed ringworm vaccine. Many owners found, when combined with other measures such as fly rugs, repellants and stabling, that it assisted with controlling Sweet Itch over the summer months.
Treatment involves two injections administered two weeks apart. If you are interested in finding out more or would like to book your horse in, please contact us on 01271 879516 / 01409 331009.
We need to carry out the vaccinations before the main midge season starts so time is of the essence.
