🎉🎉 Last week, Winnebago County Animal Services helped 82 pets find adoptive families! This included 38 cats, 40 dogs, 1 chicken, and 3 ducks!🎉🎉

✨🎉THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!🎉✨
Thank you for making this weekend's Dog Adoption Special a success!!! Take a look below at a few of the faces that found homes last week!

On Thursday, we found ourselves with over 100 dogs at our facility, forcing us to double up kennels, giving dogs limited space...

❤Today, we have about 70 dogs in the building! Thank you to everyone who adopted and a huge thank you to everyone who shared our posts and got the word out!

✨Help keep this momentum going - We currently have 20 dogs and almost 50 cats available to be met with!

If you're interested in adoption, go to our website - www.WinnebagoAnimals.org and complete an Adoption Questionnaire!

It's time to get vulnerable... The past year and a half to two years have been hard on our family. We've had two family members pass that we cared for on a daily basis and our three senior dogs that we loved so dearly that passed in a very short amount of time...

It has been devastating and so much attention has gone to funerals for our loved ones, and prayers for our dogs. I've had a lot of health issues, some of you might not know that I had a stroke earlier this year. Luckily I have 95% healed from it, and I am thanking God every day. You haven't seen me much but you have been very generous to my employees with your hearts and love. And every chance I get the opportunity to see you I am so thankful.

Because I have not been at the bakery as much this year, I haven't felt like I have seen much of you! I know you are coming in once in awhile, and I want to say I am so sorry for not being there to greet you although I know you give me all the grace. I know you are so kind and supportive with your reviews, but I MISS YOU!

I want to see you in the shop. I want to THANK YOU for supporting local, and I am here to tell you that I AM BACK. Soon you will see me much more inside our bakery, and I can't wait to meet and greet you and your pups. Will you promise to come back in and see me?

Now here is the part that is hard to say.... Inflation has hit us hard like MANY local businesses, we have had to let some of our staff go. Our bags of flour have gone from $28 a bag to $62 a bag. The rest of the ingredients have almost doubled. Rent has gone up, employee wages have gone up, and payroll taxes and state taxes have increased significantly. Ingredients have doubled or tripled, yet, we made a commitment to all of you that we would not price gouge you. We still have continued to only raise the prices of our bags of biscuits by about 25-50¢.

"It's all part of business" as I like to say, but without getting into too many of the weeds, WE REALLY DO NEED YOU to consider buying locally more than ever. Buy local everywhere, and support small. If you have the need for bully sticks, bones, doggie bags, toys, treats, and even some pet-related health items, would you consider coming into the Canine Crunchery at 1888 Daimler Rd? If it's easier to ship to yourself from an online store, would you consider buying from our online store at TheCanineCrunchery.com?

I just want to let you know that we all love you and love your dogs. We have been so happy that we have been able to create all natural, wholesome treats for your dogs. You guys have filled our hearts for the last 10 years. Thank you. We can't wait to celebrate with you THIS SUNDAY!

Event Details:

The Canine Crunchery is partnering with Hello Gordo TNR and Rescue to have an awesome rescue event and anniversary party. Can you believe we have been in our space for 5 years now? We want to celebrate by combining our event with a Kitten Shower. This will be a rain or shine event. Sunday, May 21, 10am-3pm.

❗️❗️❗️UPDATE❗️❗️❗️
Max has been adopted!!!

🐾After two months in the shelter our longest staying resident, Max is ready to be your boy❗️🐾

Max was brought to WCAS when his owner passed away. This ten-month-old, 44 pound, puppy/kangaroo mix loves to spend his time playing with other four-legged friends, showing off his irresistibly puppy dog eyes, and napping. Max is a young boy who will need an active family to teach him how to grow into a well-mannered dog! Another dog in the home to play with and learn the ropes from would be amazing for Max! He is already well on his way by knowing “sit”, being gentle when taking treats, and loving affection!

Due to his long time search for a forever home Max is part of the "Lonely Hearts Club" meaning half of his adoption fee has been covered by the WCAS Auxiliary!

Could you be Max's hero? Haven't applied yet? No worries! You can visit our website and complete an adoption questionnaire below.

So you found a litter of kittens! Now what do you do? 🙀

As the weather warms, we are greeted with the familiar signs and sounds of Spring: flowers blooming, birds chirping and kittens meowing! Shelters everywhere are familiar with “kitten season,” the time of year that unaltered, stray cats look for places to nest and give birth to new litters.

For most people who stumble upon these cute and fuzzy newborns, their instinct is to swoop in and save them. However, human intervention isn’t always best for the kittens who rely on their nesting place and mother to survive.

👉If you’ve found kittens and are wondering what to do next, use our helpful guide to plan your course of action! https://winnebagoanimals.org/kitten-season/

👉Kitten season has started, which means tons of kittens will need fostering! We already have multiple nursing mothers in foster care. If you are interested in helping us save these important little lives, let us know!

👉Interested in fostering? We have lots of options for you that could fit any schedule. Fill out an application or get more info here! https://winnebagoanimals.org/foster/

👉Can't foster? We also needs supplies! Please check out our Amazon Wishlist. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/8KL43JJ0AR7C?ref_=abls_nvfly_yl
