Fablewood Cavy Stud ( ANCC # 201307F1 ) started life as Wyland Park Cavy Stud ( ANCC # 9405W2 ) in 1994. Business, family and other commitments have kept me from the show table for quite a few years but this is ok as I am more interested in the breeding and genetics than showing. I have been breeding away quietly for many years and this year I added some new blood lines with the arrival of some g
reat piggies. I was given my first guinea pig when I was 4 years old ( white Abyssinian ) and my first breeding pair when I was 7 ( self blacks ) and it has gone on from there.. In the small country town where I grew up there were only the common varieties like self and Abyssinians and in just the basic colours, in the early 90’s I discovered long hairs and rex and I fell in love with them all.. My son has finally dragged me kicking and screaming into the 21st century by making me a face book page and web pages which are under construction still not quite sure how to drive them but I am learning. I have added a small selection of photos in albums on here but there will be more on my web page when it is completed. All my life I have been in the company of pigs of one type or another and I could not imagine being without them. I hope to do some showing next year if all goes to plan. I will have pigs for sale from time to time; so keep an eye on here as I will make a for sale album in the coming weeks, all pigs that have papers will receive them at the time of pick up, no electronic copies and no sending them on later.
