Mutt Butts of RI, Inc. is hiring for an immediate part time (with potential for full time) dog walker / small animal care taker in Providence County. Care is needed in East Providence, Providence, North Providence and Pawtucket. We have a casual laid back work environment with great staff members, great clients, and amazing animals ready to smother you with love.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be 18+
· INCREDIBLY HIGH ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS ESSENTIAL
· Must have reliable transportation and working cell phone (with internet / app capabilities)
· Must be available Monday Wednesday Friday from 1030ish am to 230ish pm (other hours available)
· Must be available to work in all four areas listed above
· Must be comfortable working with all breeds – we do not breed discriminate
· Ability to handle multiple dogs at the same time preferred
· Ability to transport dogs for group walks preferred (but not required)
· Ability to do OVERNIGHT SITTINGS and / or IN HOME BOARDING strongly preferred

Pay: Per service scheduled, however base pay is $18.50 for an hour service; extra for additional animals; extra for holidays; other bonuses / stipends available; other paid incentives available (to be discussed).

Mutt Butts is excited to be part of the journey getting these babies to their training rescue foster in Maine. Abandoned at a strip mine in West Virginia, these babies needed a chance. They have found refuge in Berwick Maine and start their journey tomorrow morning from Mingo County WV and will arrive in Rockville MD tomorrow evening. Sunday morning they hit the toad again to Port Chester NY where Madeline and I will be getting them and finishing their last leg to Maine. They are al semi feral, will need a lot of love and care, but they're going to very capable hands. Two days, eight transporters, seventeen hundred (1700!) miles and four beautiful elkie mix babies. Can't wait!

SOME THOUGHTS FOR THE 4TH

Please be responsible pet parents when it comes to the festivities of the 4th (meaning starting tonight throughout the weekend). Some tips to keep them safe:
• Even if they don't usually wear one, put on a collar, with tags, and make sure the tags are up to date with at least a phone number
• Take a photo each morning of each pet as they appear that day. It can help you find them faster if they escape.
• Add something unique to help identify them too, a bold color bandana, a collar puff, a dog tee, whatever, just make sure they are identifiable especially if they are solid color.
• Make sure windows are closed, doors are closed (including doggie doors), fences are closed. Make sure cameras are working if you can't be home. Make it hard for them to escape.
• If they are sensitive to noise, play a radio, the television, play stimulating games with them, give them an extra special long lasting toy or treat, KEEP THEM DISTRACTED.
• If you know your animal may have a hard time, either stay with them or have someone stay with them. If you can't, move them to a room that they would typically be safer in (like a closed in bathroom with a radio on).
• BE RESPONSIBLE PLEASE. So many pets unnecessarily go missing this weekend every year.
