Morning guys😁 don't know if you have noticed, but i have had my account raided lol. You may notice some spam posts within my posts and negative customer reviews with screen shots of comments from all sorts totally unrelated reptiles or me🤣. I have reported it to Facebook and the users who have done it so it will be removed. Just incase you see random things pop up for the next few days😁

Here's a sneaky leachie baby for tax😁

It's a good job he is patient😅

For context, she already devoured hers, tried to get to his from underneath knocking off a suction cup in the process, then proceeded to try sneak in anyway!
The is the leachianus equivalent of when the missus says "no, I don't want anything from McDonald's"... then steals your fries!🤣

Just wanted to give a massive shout out to Harrison Welsh

This gentleman got a gecko from me last week and I could not be more thrilled at the incredible world he has created for her.

As a breeder it's hard sometimes to sell a gecko. At a show, you get to meet and speak to the individual about the animal, but outside of there, it's hard to get a feel from message only. We want our animals to go to the best home possible but sometimes ideology and reality doesn't align. It's why we try our hardest and love updates on the animals we produce.
In this case however, I couldn't be more thrilled!

Look how incredible this set up is! If you saw this in a bespoke reptile zoo it wouldn't be out of place. This is what we should be striving for. Quite possibly, this is the best viv I have ever seen for a crested gecko. Anyone in the hobby would be proud of this and it's the direction all of us should be heading. I like to think i go above and beyond for my animals but I look at this and it makes me want to push for even better too.

As a reptile enthisiast its easy to get excited for the next animal or project, and the moment we get it and the feelings settle, we often want another. I call it "endorphin hunting". The real joy however is creating a world for the animal to be at home and act on its natural instincts. This is where a real underrated pleasure comes from! Watching how they interact, behave, forage; we are only scratching the surface with what we see and know. The real Victor's of the hobby are not those with the best morph, biggest following, or most expensive collection, but those who can stand back, look at their animals, and say "I am doing all i can" and have the happiest animals as a result. After all, we don't aim for minimum wage, so why aim for minimum standards.

In a set up like this, the animal can live a long and very enriched life. Something to be proud of, and something that is a great image for the hobby!
Well done mate! You make us extremely happy and should be very proud!!
I am a big believer and advocate of Responsible Reptile Keeping, and all they do, and feel this is amazing work that encompasses the values, and is a very positive image of the future direction of reptile keeping in private collections!!🤩😁

Don't post many cresties anymore! Need to change that 😅

This is turning out to be a model of consistency.
Orara line peach lillys with the unusual scalation that goes hand in hand.

The scales start as the fury trait, and the progresses as the animal grows. There is a definitive difference between the peach and the normal lillys.

The great grandfather is Abe, an old school blonde f2 with furry trait. Presumably, it began with him and developed further in Orara?

This does not appear in non lilly siblings, so it's some interaction between what ever gene orara has, and lilly. The same is seen from outcrossing and back to lilly?

I used to try figure these things out, but now I just Bob Ross it and happy accident mybway through🤣

You ever sit back and take count of how lucky you are? 😁

When I first got into rachs, leachies were a pipe dream. The idea of owning one was wild, and so out of range it may was well have been up there with living on Mars!

I love nothing more than getting someone their first leachie! It is my favorite animal and a holy grail species. I am lucky enough to work with them every day and often wake up to new life in the incubator, new eggs in the viv and the most beautiful animals living their best lives. I get to enjoy them waiting eagerly for dinner time, and see their courtship and pairing develop. To give people the opportunity to enjoy this like I do, and get the animal of their dreams, is a thrill like no other!

I think it definitely helps that their innocent little faces look as though butter wouldn't melt from birth 🤣

Anyway happy Sunday and remembrance day!

Breeding for size is one thing;

But Breeding for high pattern and colour is also a thrill. This high-contrast Nuana male is a beaut, with stunning pinks and whites from head to tail.

I got this pair by chance, from a lovely couple with alot going on. I think of them every time I look at this pair, and as such, they hold a very soft spot!

They havet bred this season, but I didn't expect them too if I'm honest. My previous video showed the female searching for a spot to lay, however, they were duds.

Pairing leachies can be an arduous process. More often than not, even a well paired couple need a year to settle into their partnership.😊

These two really do get on very well though, and we have hit the stage now where both have become really defensive over their main hollow! A great sign that they are content, so it's promising for an excellent 2025😁

Hey guys,

Something a little different than geckos😊

Made these guys for my little man and he loves them! These are 3D printed articulated rattle snakes with working rattle and moving jaw.

They are either:
- Plain (one colour)
- 3D colour (eyes and fangs)
- Hand painted

You can choose colour

- Each comes with a snake hook. ( as seen in pic one).

My little one loves catching the snake and pretending to milk it. I figured other kids would love them too😁

100% PLA plastic so safe for water, sand, mud and all sorts in-between. Highly durable and great fun!

Hand painted ones are fun on a desk as a display.

Will have these among other reptile toys including cresties at 2025 IHS shows🤩

Plain with hook: £12 plus posting (£2)
3D colour with hook: £15 plus posting(£3) donation )
Hand painted £20 plus posting(£5)

I need to work out cost to build before I can give exact %, but a % of each sale will go to RRK (responsible reptile keeping)as a donation to show our support for the great work they do! Donations will be sent every 1/4 except at shows where it will go directly that day😊 For now I have put the donation amount next to the options in (brackets)

Message for details😁

The not so nice side of leachie breeding😓

We all know leachies are resilient and remarkably tough! Infact, some studies suggest that one reason for their baggy skin is in part due to their rough courtship behaviour. That all said; it's still not nice to see or hear.

Here we have one of the females 10 or so days after breeding. They heal incredibly fast and are resilient to infection. We still use ointment but even so, the healing process from deep wound to this is insane quick. Within a few weeks this will be a white scar and by next season, almost unnoticeable.
The male's unlike creaities don't continue to breed the female and as such, when paired well, the female is offered time to heal.
It is not always the case that they get torn up, but it isn't uncommon.

So, if you ever see a leachie with a scarred head, it isn't neglect, poor husbandry, or bad pairing. Often is the case it is totally natural courtship behaviour and is as natural to them as taking your date to a restaurant and complaining about the price is, to us😁

First of the month means Responsible Reptile Keeping and

Its such a joy being able keep, grow, and enjoy all of these wonderful animals! Every single one has its own personality, they have their own likes and dislikes, and each one brings a smile to our face every day!
The more awareness there is on our hobby, who we really, what we truly stand for, and what we do for conservation, preservation, and education the more others will enjoy these incredible animals, and by virtue the more protection they will have in our homes and in wild!

Support the RRK and support our hobby!

Super happy with this! My first ever hatched chahoua 😃!!
I have had no luck with them. I was about to give it up as a bad job when I found an egg roll put a tube one day when cleaning.
It wasn't the happiest of eggs but I incubated...nearly 7 months later, this little one popped out😁

Man they are cute! Hopefully this has broken rhe seal for 2025😁

08/09/2024

Such a good season for this pair! At eggs 7/8 I thought the season couldn't get any better for the duo. Thismorning however, my son noticed she had laid 2 more 9/10 right by the front of the viv. All super healthy!

He and I were so excited to pot them that we didn't give her time to cover them so she was a little stressed. So we popped them back and she's finishing the job. Never pulled eggs as its happened before with leachianus so I now know it's best to let her finish the whole process before removing. I don't know what a leachianus thinks, but I do know they are driven by scents, and stresses. As such I don't want her stressed thinking she didn't succeed. Is this a thing, I don't know, but the absence of evidence isn't the evidence of absence. What I do know is that there was visible behavior that looked like stress when she thought the eggs had gone.
We live and learn 😁
