FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE: DUCHESS THE GREAT DANE DEMANDS EXPLANATION FOR UNACCEPTABLE LACK OF ADOPTION APPLICATIONS ON ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
MOBILE, ALABAMA — Let it be known across the land that today marks a deeply confusing day in canine history. Duchess, a breathtakingly beautiful 5-year-old fawn-coated Great Dane, has officially reached her one-year anniversary in rescue. The number of adoption applications worthy of her consideration? Appallingly low.
"I am bold, I am bouncy, and I am large-and-in-charge. Frankly, I am baffled by this lack of urgency from the general public," reads a statement dictated by Duchess herself. "I offer premium companionship, exquisite lounging skills, and an unparalleled dramatic flair. The sheer audacity of making me wait a full year for my castle is, quite simply, a tragedy."
While she languishes in the rescue system, Duchess maintains a rigorous daily schedule. Her primary duty involves carefully transporting her precious stuffed "babies" out into the yard for vital fresh air. When these babies inevitably become soiled by the elements, she employs the services of her dedicated butler, Papa Tom. He is strictly instructed to retrieve, sanitize, and dry the babies before they are granted re-entry into her royal chambers.
To expedite the application process, Duchess’s team has released the official requirements for her new permanent kingdom:
Canine Courtiers: Duchess is seeking a home with other dogs who are friendly, yet delightfully submissive. She is happy to share her space, provided her peers fully understand and respect that she is the undisputed queen of the household.
Human Companions: Respectful, older children are highly requested. Applicants must excel at sharing the sofa for extensive television viewing and possess adequate stamina to accompany her on daily neighborhood strolls.
The Feline Situation: Cats are technically permitted on the premises, though Duchess wishes to clarify her stance: she views felines less as roommates and more as highly interactive, self-propelled chase toys.
"This is a limited-time opportunity to welcome true royalty into your home," Duchess concluded in her statement. "I expect the application queue to be wrapped around the building by nightfall."
For more information, or to formally submit your application for the privilege of becoming Duchess's forever family, please contact the rescue immediately. Papa Tom is standing by.
