IMPORTANT MESSAGE...
It has been brought to my attention today that there seems to have been information circulating via defra in relation to removing dogs from the UK index of registered exempted dogs.
This is to the effect that if the owner believes their dog is not type and was exempted wrongly, and/or the dog has been seen by a dlo who agrees the dog is not type then they do not need to conform to the rules governing an exempted dog.
I urge caution in NOT sticking to the rules regarding muzzling etc, there is nothing in writing that we are currently aware of, and to do so, could put your dogs at risk and yourselves at risk from possible prosecution.
I will update further as soon as i have more information...

It's been a while since my last update on here, but things have been so busy, both professionally and personally. Having recently checked my records because my phone storage was almost full, i found that in the last 10 months i have reviewed over 800 dogs for people, assessed several hundred too. And things aren't slowing much as i am off out of the country this week in relation to dog matters too. So if i have missed a text or two, or been delayed in responding i truly apologise, but there are only so many hours in the day 😊

When you can't sleep, I've tried counting XL Bullys, but ended up assessing them 🤦‍♂️😆
So nowt else for it but take the boy for a run at 5.50am...

So, with just over two weeks before the ban comes into full effect north of the border, i appeal to those people who are still deciding whether to exempt your dogs or not...
Please do not leave it until the eleventh hour, don't be like so many in England, that were frantically scrabbling around for help.
I am going on holiday on the 16th July and will not be answering any enquiries until the 24th.

So i am finding i am repeating myself to tell people how to get me a good side profile pic of their dog, i was very recently sent pictures of a couple of dogs from a very nice lady who used this peanut butter trick to get the perfect shot. Ingenious and just what us experts require...
Whilst i enjoy seeing your dog laying on its back holding a teddy in his paws, its not actually that helpful 😊 so please take note of how to get that perfect pic,

So we are into the last few weeks of freedom before the Scottish ban starts for the XL Bully, today alone, i have over 20 fresh enquiries as to my opinion as to whether a dog is type or not ?
Please, please, do not be like England and leave it so late to make that decision as to exempt or not exempt...
I am turning people away now who want to have a report to assist in removing dogs from the register of exempted dogs, these enquiries are not urgent at the moment, i need to concentrate on those who are facing difficult decisions for the future safety of their animal. Thank you all for your patience and understanding at this difficult time.

Good morning, just a little reminder to our Scottish friends. With the deadline for self exemption approaching at the end of July, please, please don't leave things till the last moment before you apply!
After the issues experienced in the UK where the system crashed multiple times over the last few days, people were left frantically trying to sort the issues and stress levels went through the roof...
We are also having issues where neutering deadlines are becoming an issue for lots of medical reasons, phantom pregnancy, unexpected seasons etc...
Again, a very stressful situation for owners and defra are holding firm at their stance on neutering.
Let's make sure those beloved pets are safe, so please don't delay, make your decision and get the medical procedure booked in asap if your dog isn't already neutered.

I am still working hard to answer all the messages folks are sending so i thank each of you for your patience, sometimes the process is made slower by people lying or trying to gain information for a third party 🤔
If i become suspicious of a person or an enquiry i will investigate it as fully as possible, its the ex cop in me i guess. In these days of social media we can fact check quite a lot from information in the public domain.
These chancers actually take valuable time away from helping those genuine owners desperate for help which in effect means you good people have a longer wait for a response from me.
Third party enquiries will be refused as information can become tainted or misleading, and none of us want the advice to be given out incorrectly. So minor rant over, i just wanted to explain the time delays in responding. I have just been away on holiday to recharge my batteries and was answering messages sat around the pool at times.
But i am back and straight into it...
