Developed in 1906 by Luther Burbank, an American botanist, this plum tops my list for jam, tarts, or just enjoying.
A favorite at the farmers market’s but not sold commercially. If you’re ever up in Sonoma County this time of year Santa Rosa plums are a must!

So on occasion a new mom won't pull any hair before she kindles. If you are able to catch the litter in time they can be warmed up and re-situated in the nest box. We caught this litter uncovered this morning and I use the blow dryer to gently warm them up. We will then put them back in the nest with some artificial hair until mom pulls some of her own-which is usually the next day.
