My biggest pain is from my passion of horses and barrel racing. I had no guidance, just other kids out there trying to figure it out. The internet wasn't the massive resource it is today. So I did everything wrong and no one told me any better. I would go to the little local saddle club shows so hopeful only to leave crying that my horse would stop at the first barrel and rear up or would just run around the arena. I was always shocked despite this happening at every show I went to. My parents didn't go to the shows and didn't know anything either. I was alone and frustrated but was dumb enough to never stop trying. This went on for years.
Finally changed my strategy and worked really hard with my horse. In 2002 I won barrels, poles, keyhole and placed in several other classes to become the yearend Jr high point champion of that local saddle club. This is a very minor victory in most people's eyes, not much competition at the local saddle club.
However to this day it's my biggest win.
I know the pain and frustration of trying so hard but then failing week after week and season after season. People telling you to give up on that horse. Not having any resources or help or even anyone rooting for you. Just being alone in the corner working hard but doing the wrong things and being frustrated as to why it seems to just stay the same.
