We are a mobile salon team that provides grooming services to the dogs and cats of the greater Sacramento CA

We strive to create a nurturing environment where mutual care, trust, and respect are standard for every pet while providing a welcoming, calm atmosphere for you. We hope this is the beginning of a wonderful, professional working relationship with you! We are a full-service dog, cat, aviary and pocket pet mobile grooming facility.

Cat Grooming Summit
Start with a brief overview of feline anatomy and physiology, including a few basic functions, like why cats rub or scratch surface areas. She will discuss recognizing distress and aggression in felines and what causes these reactions. How do you identify these signs before they excel, and when is it appropriate to end the grooming session? Dana will help you spot these behavior issues before the cat reacts aggressively.
Not all grooming equipment is appropriate for use on felines. Dana will go over the must-haves for cat grooming and answer the questions, Why invest so much? What is right for me and my cat clients? Where to purchase from and why?

A Purrfect Groomer Mobile Pet Salon expresses gratitude to our clients for their patience and ongoing support during the last two weeks of triple-digit heat. Unfortunately, our van sustained some damage, but we have ordered the necessary parts and expect to resume grooming by July 13.

Dana’s career in animal care began in 1998, where she served as the lead veterinary technician at the North Peninsula Humane Society. It was during this time that she recognized the critical role of basic care for pets on a larger scale. She then moved on to emergency veterinary care, working as a veterinary technician at North Peninsula Veterinary Emergency from 2000 to 2002. From 2002 to 2005, Dana specialized in veterinary dentistry at a Sacramento-area veterinary corporation before founding A Purrfect Groomer with her husband, Alex, in 2005. Initially operating a brick-and-mortar salon, Dana transitioned to a mobile grooming service in 2015, providing personalized care door to door in front of clients’ homes. In 2016, Dana became a founding member of the Intellectual Groomers Association (IGA), where she played a vital role in shaping feline grooming certification guidelines and traveled the country leading seminars and certifying groomers. Two years later, Dana joined Andis as a feline educator, promoting the benefits of their products through global demonstrations and presentations. Dana’s dedication to feline grooming culminated in her 2021 publication of *Meow Wow: The Complete Guide to Feline Grooming*, which continues to receive rave reviews and sell out at trade shows. In 2022, Dana’s expertise led her to become an official Romani ambassador, educating groomers on the proper use of tools. She also welcomed two Selkirk Rex cats into her life, training them to be her demonstration models on the road. In 2024, Dana took on multiple ambassador roles, including becoming UTSUMI’s first feline ambassador and joining Lukoluko's luxury collar team.
