Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to homeless and lost dogs and cats in our community and to be advocates in finding their forever homes.

Thank you Thursday going out to our local Whistler community for voting WAG Volunteer Denise Wood as Volunteer of the Year and WAG as second Favourite Non-profit Organization in the Pique Newsmagazine Best of Whistler 2024✨

WAG Volunteer Denise Wood won the Volunteer of the Year category for her 4th year in a row! Denise dedicates many hours to WAG whether it be walking dogs, sitting on our Board of Directors, helping at events, or sewing beautiful bandanas to help raise funds for the animals, she is always willing to lend a helping hand. The animals adore her, and she spends many hours enriching the lives of our more long-term animals. We are so grateful for her passion and leadership in the rescue animal world❤

After many years of being voted number one we are honoured to place second after our neighbours at WCSS in the Favourite Non-Profit Category. We thank all our supporters and will continue to work hard to help animals and families in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor in the year ahead.

Happy New Years - Adopt Me - Alice Cooper! 🎉

This big, beautiful gal arrived at WAG a few weeks ago. Alice is an 8-year-old hound mix who came to us after her person sadly passed away a few years ago. Since then, she has been surviving thanks to the kindness of neighbours and her incredible survival skills.

Alice is a sweet, happy lady who’s currently working on loosing a few pounds. She loves going on walks with her foster family and has even shown us that she is a water baby and likes to swim even in the winter. Alice gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has been doing pretty well with relaxed cats so far. She adores people and, true to her hound nature, she really loves food, sniffing and yelling when she is excited or unimpressed

She has a dental surgery scheduled later this month to address a few broken teeth. Her initial bloodwork revealed some liver abnormalities, so she’s on supplements to support her liver function. We’ll repeat her bloodwork in a few weeks to check her progress. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our matching campaign! Your generosity makes it possible for us to care for animals like Alice Cooper, ensuring they get the love and medical attention they need. 💕 And to her foster home for taking such great care of her while our shelter is so full!

We are wrapping up the year with the FINAL DAY of our Holiday Matching Campaign. 🐾 Urgent Call for Foster Homes 🏡 WAG is at capacity and expecting 10 more animals before Christmas.

We’re urgently seeking:
- A foster home for a young mom and her 6 puppies - **for at least** 2 weeks, then longer the better. We provide all supplies, vet care, and support.
- Long-term and consistent, fosters for Winnie and Beau, - two sweet pups struggling in the shelter environment. - check out their profile on our website.
- A foster for a loving senior pup
- And so much more!

We are halfway through our Holiday Matching Campaign and have raised just under half of our $80,000 goal! 🎈One year ago today, a brave young momma gave birth to 12 healthy puppies after coming into WAGs care only a few days earlier. It was a relief that she was able to find a safe, calm foster home before promptly giving birth to a huge litter. Turmeric was a fantastic momma, supported by her loving foster pawrents who truly went above and beyond looking after 13 dogs in their home! The 6 boys and 6 girls found incredible homes, and Turmeric (now Ricki) was invited to officially join her foster family permanently. This year they've even helped foster even more WAG puppies awaiting adoption, we think they deserve a break this holiday season! Join us in wishing a Happy Birthday to all 12 siblings who are celebrating their 1st birthday today! 🎈We checked in with our alumni and have some photos to share for their fans and the community who cared for them, and of course our donors who make it all possible. Precious Pip is still looking for her forever home 🏡🐱

Miss Pip is doing amazing in her loving foster home! Her true personality is shining through more and more each day! We’re so proud of you Pip ✨

While Pip may have been shy at first and during her recovery after surgery, she has blossomed into a playful, curious and courageous kitty who is enjoying spending time with her foster pawrents more each day 🥰

She’s grown close to her foster cat sibling and now likes to chase him around and when she’s not in the mood for playtime, she knows how to hold her ground and make her preferences known!

Pip would love a quiet and calm home without too much commotion and a couch she can cat nap and enjoy the company of her family. She is a peaceful and loving cat who is ready to find her forever home where she can continue to grow in comfort and safety 🐾

Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to homeless and lost dogs and cats in our community and to be advocates in finding their forever homes. WAG is reaching out to our community and those around us to help find ways to make animal welfare possible for everyone. Through our assistance programs and educational children's programs, we strive to educate people how to be the best possible pet owners. Our high standards of care for our animals comes at a price, in order to maintain these standards and achieve financial stability, fundraisers, community awareness and participation is a must. The pride with which our community takes in the shelter experience offers us the ability to sustain this unique shelter. WAG is transparent and honest in its actions and communications to give our stakeholders a high level of confidence. We welcome all visitors and locals who want to contact us about pet adoption or even if you want to walk a dog or sit with a cat. They cherish these moments and we are appreciative of your kindness.
