Out on the range again! ND State Range Judging contest for FFA/4H in Mandan, ND. We have one little girl left, that’s still looking for her family.

Meet Miss Marie—-she’s 13.5 weeks; leash trained, crate trained, almost all the way potty trained…. She is working on becoming a professional greeter! She does well in a vehicle, but still gets occasional car sickness. (She will grow out of that.). She is just happy go lucky like her daddy and calm and chill like her mamma.

Took some pups to Big Iron in Fargo, ND earlier this week. We worked on leash training and people meeting. After about 45 mins of walking the pups wanted to be carried! They sure slept well on the car ride home!

(Only two Tri color females left, Echo and Marie, it’s getting quieter here on the farm.)

Echo (15 weeks and available) had a blast in Watford City, ND. She got a weee bit car sick on the way out; but after putting on 500 miles she was traveling like a champion! We worked a bunch on leash training and basic commands for sit, down, and stay. She had her first overnight at a hotel. Best of all she got to meet tons of new kids on the range.

Our kids participated in 4H range judging and did quite well overall. (The kind of range judging where you get to figure out how many cows certain pasture lands can support and identify 150 different weeds/grasses.). Our county, Griggs County, took 1st place overall in the team events. And MC placed 3rd overall senior; and Oliver took 2nd place overall for junior range judging.

Time for the early season apple harvest with a couple of helpers…. Well actually the apples would fall to the ground and the pups would take turns grabbing them and running off. But they were cute helpers and well behaved!

These 10.5 week old female rough collie pups are soooo chill! We had a car appointment this afternoon and brought them inside. After not getting too far with eating Oliver’s math…they just laid down to nap. Quality Alignment and Brake Center in Valley City, ND, ROCKS!!!

When harvesting plums and cleaning up the ground what do you do when you have too many helpers? Stop and hand out pets of course! Lol! These Tri color female pups from North Dakota are 10 weeks old and are ready to help with harvest. PM me for more information.

It was national music on the porch today— so we participated as well. We brought along Scarlett (14 weeks) and Stormie (10 weeks). It was a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Corn harvest—- everyone has a job on the farm from husking to cutting off the cob to taste testing! These pups are 9 weeks, a few are still available (pm me for more details)

They come partially trained as farm help or taste testers!

Out and a-bout with puppies! Tonight range judging started. We brought along Scarlet, sable girl, and Hook, Tri color boy.

Scarlet (12 weeks & available) rides well in the car and is doing really well on the leash. She is night time crate trained too. We went hiking and little Hook (8 weeks) just followed us right up the hill. Puppies are slowly starting to leave….always so bittersweet and wonderful seeing the new families they bring joy to.

Oliver working on some training with the collies—- we have a few extra dogs right now as their families are traveling this summer. We really enjoy having the pups we raise come back to the farm on occasion so we can see how they are turning out and to help when we can. The cats are funny… always underfoot!

Cuteness everywhere!

Liberty’s pups are 3 weeks now. The kittens are getting braver and visiting them closer. Today one got in the puppy space and 2 to 3 of the puppies did great big barks! I think they startled themselves! It was too funny and that kitten sure left in a hurry!

We had some pretty stiff competition in the rabbit categories and both kids got blue ribbons on their respective projects.

Oliver noted that his biggest success was that he brought his baby 12 week old mini Rex’s and they all found new homes. He is officially retiring from the mini Rex breed and ready to try a different/regular sized one.

We also had a lot of fun sharing our baby 4 week old smoke pearl mini lops…. baby bunnies are just cute! The mini lops are a project the kids are doing together. MC owns the male and Oliver owns the female. We have already taken them to an ARBA sanctioned rabbit show and are planning on bringing these little ones to some more in the future.

Two broody ducks and a broody hen changed many of our 4h achievement projects—took out our trio’s……but despite all that the kids made do and still did very well. A couple of grand champion and reserve champions with the Pekin Drake and Sapphire Gem Rooster!

This may seem like no big deal—- but Liberty finally crossed the kitchen floor to get to her pups! She likes carpets and rugs, but won’t have anything to do with tile or wood or other smooth, slippery, “nail clicking” surfaces.

She’s a pro now—- and followed her basket of pups without skipping a beat!

These cuties arrived June 18, 2023. This is Liberty. This is her first litter. She loves being a mom! She had her own maternity suite for 2 weeks. However now it’s back to work for me and she’s moving to the living room.
