Look who’s Miss August 2025 in the Therapy Dogs of Providence calendar… our very own Momma Maggie! ❤️ Calendars are for sale in the hospital gift shops. Proceeds help fund the good work of Providence Medical Centers. (I blurred the children’s faces. In the calendar their beaming smiles are bright and beautiful)

Though Geordie (left) looks much like his mom (right), he inherited his dad’s big broad head. Each day he grows increasingly more handsome…. And yes, there are three beds there, but they’d rather share just one ❤️

I can’t get away with anything. Geordie has me under constant surveillance. Although occasionally he falls sleep on the job 🤣

You just NEVER know. How many times have we been told this? When Maggie’s working at the hospital, I try to remind myself to be open to moments when someone truly needs her. Yesterday was one of those days.

As we approached the children’s unit where Maggie works, a food service worker was leaving. She was both pushing and pulling carts. When she looked down and saw Maggie, she said “May I see her?”. She began to pet her, then began to hug Maggie. When she stood I could see that the worker was crying. She expressed how much she needed Maggie today. Even though Maggie and I were due (maybe a bit late) in the children’s unit, I told her to take all the time she’d like with Maggie. She knelt back down, hugged Maggie again, and cried. She then stood and continued on with the two food carts.

Maggie continued into the psychiatry unit, where she worked with more children than she has since prior to the pandemic.

This morning was amazing! Temperament testing these Murphy puppies was an honor. They scored beautifully, and are going to be fantastic dogs! Thank you RB Goldens

I’m EXCITED, in a few days I’ll be administering the Volhard PAT (Puppy Aptitude Test) for each of these girls. Each puppy will go home temperament tested providing families additional information about their puppy. Is Bluey going to be your puppy? ❤️?
