Rest Your Paws Pet Care was founded and is run by Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Lisa. After working in a couple different clinics and not satisfied with that area of work, Lisa was looking to get out of the clinic atmosphere and help pet parents in a different way. Rest Your Paws Pet Care understands that most pets are more comfortable at home than they are in a clinic setting or a boardi

ng facility. By offering in-home services, pet parents don’t have to stress about their pets being locked away in small kennels and/or the anxiety caused by being away from home. Lisa will come meet you and your pets in the comfort of your home and go over with you what your needs and expectations are. Today is National Ferret Day! Also known as carpet sharks, cat snakes or rope cats, these delightful little creatures won't fail to make you laugh with their antics. Their name is derived from the Latin word furittus meaning little thief and these little weasels definitely live up to that name. They love to take any item they can get their little teeth around and "ferret" them away to their secret stash! Ferrets are very social pets that love to play and are extremely curious creatures who love exploring. They're not for everyone though, as some find their musk too smelly and are a pretty high maintenance pet. But to those who have no problem with this they are a source of hours of entertainment and laughter.

Hey everyone! Weather agencies are predicting a nasty Spring Storm starting Friday with significant snow hitting our area Friday night and freezing rain on Sunday. This is going to make the roads pretty treacherous if the weather projections are correct. Scheduled walks are likely to be cancelled as it will be unsafe for the team to even be on the roads. For clients with cats that we are caring for, we will be leaving extra food and water down for cats the night before just in case we cannot make it out to your house. If you are client with a dog who we are caring for while you are away Lisa will be reaching out to you to discuss options. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Hello everyone!
We wanted to inform everyone that Lisa will be out of town for a live-in booking from March 30th, 2025, to April 26th, 2025, and will be unavailable for bookings. No further live in services will be scheduled for while Lisa is away however, a limited amount of cat visits and/or dog walking bookings will be available during this time. If you are anticipating a need for services during these dates, please send in your request as soon as possible. All currently booked services will be covered by the rest of the RYPPC team, so please make sure to update your pet’s information in the system if needed so the team has the most up to date care instructions.

Yesterday the rainbow bridge received a very special boy. Bailey, who we referred to as Bailey Lab, was one our regulars who we got to take for a slow stroll around his neighbourhood while his family was at work and school. He was always excited for his walks and even more excited for the treat he always got once we returned to his house. Bailey was loved by the entire RYPPC team but especially by Bryan who was his primary walker. We will miss you good boy, thank you for being the sweetest boy.

Country 90.5 FM’s radio host Kevin O thought that he probably has the most keys on his keychain. I laughed and said bet. 13 on this keychain and 4 on my other, these are just our regulars and currently away clients. All other keys are kept in a lockbox at my home which has probably more than 50 keys in it.

Thankfully it seems like the polar vortex has moved out of our area so walks can once again proceed at their regular lengths. We always put our team’s safety as well as the safety of your pups first and shortening walks and doing inside play and cuddles on days when it’s especially cold is one is the ways we do this.

Thankfully the temperatures will be a touch warmer this weekend compared to the past couple of days but we want to remind our clients to make sure to put out any coats and/or boots your dog might need for walks. We always gauge the length of our walks based on how comfortable your dog is so if they’re showing signs of being too cold we turn around after making sure they at least go p*e and either play inside for the remainder of the visit or adjust the appointment booking to reflect the time we spent with your dog. We have a bunch of really great dogs and cats featured in our 2025 calendar! They are $20 each and $5 from each calendar will be donated to a local pet rescue! Shipping is not available but we can deliver if you are in North Bay or surrounding areas! Please reach out if interested!

Due to the freezing rain and the roads being extremely icy all scheduled walks will be changed to potty breaks and then playtime inside. Other services, such as cat visits, will be completed once it warms up a bit and the roads get sanded. Please reach out to Lisa if you have any questions or concerns.

North Bay is currently under a snow squall watch and they are calling for around 15cm of snow, possibly more by tomorrow. Currently scheduled walks for tomorrow may be shortened if weather deteriorates rapidly. We will reach out to you if we are unable to complete a service or need to come later in the day due to road conditions. Please refer to our inclement weather policies on our website and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Lisa.

Does anyone know who this kitty is? Or anyone who is missing this sweet girl? Lisa found her in her backyard this morning. No microchip found. She’s safe and warm inside.
