What a year!

Thank you so much to each and every one of my lovely old and new customers for 1 keeping me busy and 2 for all of your support, love and kindness you have all showed not just to me but my husband Christopher also through this very difficult and upsetting year we are both very grateful and appreciative.

I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and new year and wish you every happiness for 2024

Where do we start?!

The past 2 and a bit weeks have been horrendous, tiring and very emotional.
From auntie Ruth having to be took to hospital late Thursday (14th) to being treated for all sorts but nothing could be done to be put on end of life care monday (18th)

Yesterday at 2.20pm auntie Ruth passed away peacefully in her sleep, people say it’s probably the best way for her to slip away but it doesn’t make our pain any easier.

Both Christopher and I are so very grateful from the warmth and love shown/given from family, friends and my lovely customers we are so very lucky to have you all in our lives. In sad situations like this we certainly know who is there/who isn’t there for us.

Thank you all so much for your caring messages they really do make it just that little bit easier

Hi everyone, how is everybody?

It feels like ages since I touched base with you all.
So just means you are all ace by keeping me busy keeping me out of mischief making your fur babies clean and beautiful which I am extremely thankful for and love every minute of it.

So I’ve looked in diary and I only have a handful if not just a couple of appointments available in September and the same for October but more availability is looking more in to November.

So September dates - Monday 25th @ 3.30pm
Friday 29th @ 6.30pm

October dates - Monday 2nd @ 3pm
Tuesday 3rd @ 9am
Tuesday 10th @ 1pm + 4pm
Monday 30th @ 4pm

If you are waiting for an appointment and I haven’t got back to you then firstly I am so sorry I have a brain like a sieve as most of you are all well aware of 🙈 and please get in touch to kick me up the back side to remind me.

Good afternoon everybody hope you are all well coping with this heat.

I am so excited, I have treated the van to a air conditioning machine to keep your fur babies and myself cool in this heat. Shouldn’t complain as it’s beautiful weather

Just a quick heads up to let you all know I’m booked up until the 3rd week in august at the moment.

So if you are in a position to be able to rebook your next appointments then I would strongly suggest you do so there is no disappointment and keeping your beautiful fur babies to remain in a comfortable state and spruced.

A week ago today nan passed away, a week already.

It’s silly because the things that really bugged me I’m finding myself miss it like -

- Nan sulking because her knitting was going wrong.
- moaning because she hadnt had a cup of tea for longer than 30 minutes.
- moaning because she was cold, oh how she’d huff and puff because she was cold but wouldn’t say anything.
- moan because I’d be doing jobs and not sitting with her.

I have found myself looking over at her chair to see if she was sleep knitting, but she’s not there.

Turning to Christopher saying we need to drop Nans slippers off because she hates having cold feet.

I know it’s silly

Cherish everybody you love because nobody knows when there number will be called

I would also like to thank everyone who has sent condolences and showing me such love and care, I am so lucky to have such lovely, understanding customers. (There has been a couple that hasn’t been very understanding, but that’s absolutely fine also)

With all of your love, care and support it really has helped me cope and has kept me strong a lot more at this extremely sad time

MY NAN - “QUEENIE”

Today at 11.30am my heart broke as my nan of the age of 87 sadly passed away.

I was so lucky to of had her in my life, we had the best of times and I have cherished memories to last me a life time.

Even when she was grumpy or sulking I’d be the one that could and would turn her frown upside down, and then we’d laugh on why she was grumpy because most of the time it was because of her knitting going wrong.

I was the lucky one because I was her favourite and she wasn’t shy on telling people or showing them.

The only comfort we are getting from today is knowing that nan isn’t in pain and suffering anymore.

As everyone can imagine we are all very upset and trying to come to terms with everything, so if you message or ring and dont get a reply straight away then I apologise but I need to have a couple of days and time to digest the news and get everything into place

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update about my nan

We are all feeling pretty useless at this point as my Nan is extremely poorly and there is nothing else the hospital or ourselves can do.

Unfortunately nan has been taken off all medication and put on end of life care. (This happened on Friday)

Doctors have said she could have a few hours to a few days left, we are all devastated and heartbroken beyond words.

We are spending day and night at the hospital with nan, and I might have to cancel appointments at short notice - which I’d like to apologise for in advance and as always forever grateful for your understanding.

Thank you for all of the kind messages you have sent me, it really has given me strength to stay strong for Nan.

I’m sorry if I have crumbled in front of you, but thank you for the comforting it really is lovely of you.

As always guys I am forever grateful of your kindness, caring and support - you are all amazing and im so very lucky

So today Nan decided she needed a visit from a lovely trio of paramedics and wanted a trip in their ambulance! Suspected mini stroke so a lot of tests need to be done.

Thank you so much for all of your well wishes and understanding of me having to cancel appointments I will of course get you all in at anytime early or late that is convenient for you.

Due to minus degree numbers it has frozen my tanks and pipes so unfortunately I can’t wash the dogs 😭 so I may have to cancel and reschedule some of you. I’m sorry for any inconvenience and roll on the weather getting at least a couple of degrees warmer.

It’s pretty and crisp and I love winter but please be careful when out in it as it can be very slippery and dangerous especially driving with the added fog 🐾❤️🐾❤️

With circumstances due to the plummeting temperatures out of my control, I’m sorry all grooms today have been cancelled. Due to the pipes and tanks in my van are frozen solid! Even having a heater on in there all night hoping it would defrost them at least a little bit still not budging 🤬😭🤬😭

Don’t worry tho as I will be back fighting and working earlier and later hours to fit you all in

🚫weather issue update🚫

Due to the extreme temperatures and conditions on the roads my poor van is going through it at the moment.

🔴 struggling with frozen pipes- so struggling to bath any dogs or anything

🔴 the temperature inside the van even with a heater is still proving difficult

🔴the conditions on the roads with ice/black ice is proving a little difficult also

So with all of these factors and the temperatures still plummeting is causing a lot of issues and hard decisions on what I can physically do to make it safe and possible for me to groom.

This might/may cause cancellations of appointments and I sincerely apologise but unfortunately I can’t control the weather-I really wish I did have that power but I don’t.

If appointments do have to be cancelled then of course I will try my hardest to get you all booked back in before Christmas so please do not worry.

I know it’s a very annoying situation and I’m just as much annoyed as this bad weather stopping me from working doesn’t help pay the bills.

AND EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT A WORKAHOLIC I AM

Hi everyone hope you are all well and managing to stay dry in this awful dreary wet weather.

I want to give you a little insight of hours for next year.

This year has been a tough year for myself and Christopher (my husband) with sad news, my health issues and Christopher’s aunties health issues - I would love to thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words and patience you are all amazing.

So for the past 8 years I have worked 7 days a week 9am-until late with the very limited odd day off here and there, so DRUM ROLL PLEASE- I have decided to no longer work on a Sunday next year (2023) so I can spend time with family and friends as life is too short not to have a little bit of YOU time.

I will of course still have time to groom your fur babies as I absolutely love my job and you guys for keeping me busy.
