This is the face of a puppy that's just had a super fun training session!

Sully is learning that when he feels the stimulation from his new e-collar, he gets super exciting food rewards!

This way, he'll be able to enjoy off-leash freedom in the future and run to his owners whenever he feels the gentle stim from his remote collar 🐾

We have a long way to go, but the process is very fun!

Way to go, Ollie!

Ollie's made leaps and bounds with his training, going from a shut-down, terrified dog to a dog that's ready to challenge himself and grow in confidence around "scary" situations, which used to be virtually everything...

Today, Ollie's biggest hurdle is kids playing outside, and his owner has been doing a great job at teaching him to be confident in these situations!

Sully is such a good puppy! 🖤

His cuteness makes it really hard for his owners to share fair consequences with him for bad behavior, which in turn causes Sully to be MORE interested in pushing boundaries and seeing what he can get away with...

And with a giant dog like Sully, that's something that will be a nightmare to manage if it's allowed to continue!

Cute dogs often get "cute dog privilege" and it's very important to stick to our rules and boundaries we set from the beginning, so that they learn to earn the freedoms good dogs get to enjoy!

Some more moments from our Pack Walk with Ollie, Mace, and Boaz!

Boaz: more in-tune with what we were asking him to do this time instead of being excited to see/sniff/pull towards anything interesting. Definitely a big difference from our last Pack Walk!

Mace: was perfectly focused on his owner. Looked exactly like a powerful and regal GSD should. He's getting better and better with each Pack Walk. We found a ledge he was afraid to walk over when we practiced some barkour, so that will be something we'll work on next time!

Ollie: was a champ! Held together for a good while going through very "scary" situations (kids) for him. We learned to adjust our Pack Walk to start in less stressful areas of the park next time.

Looking forward to our next Pack Walk! 🐾🐾🐾

What a fantastic review from Ollie's owner!

Ollie was a dog used solely for breeding, from a home where he was crated all day long.

He knew zero commands, had no concept of leash pressure, was too scared to take food from people, didn't know how to play with toys, didn't understand how to follow people (he'd just freeze or lie down and shut down), he'd shake from ANYTHING even remotely startling or new to him, he would take forever to calm down from a stressful situation, and was just a terrified little dog.

We've seen a HUGE change in Ollie and his owners are absolutely wonderful for putting in the hard work and patience needed to get this guy to where he is today.

So excited to see his future! 🤍

It can be very hard for puppy owners to share "tough love" with their puppies when they need it and Sully knows this... 🖤

Boaz did very well for his first ever blood draw, a very painful/stinging injection, and waiting patiently to be seen by Dr. Potts - who was very thorough in her exam.

Thank you to all our vet teams who work tirelessly so we can enjoy our pets!!

If you start teaching your young puppy self-control around food when they're YOUNG, you're not going to have any struggles teaching them to ignore:
- food your toddler drops
- food you leave on the coffee table while you take a quick bathroom break
- food left on your kitchen counters
- food a stranger tosses to your dog

Sully is doing a really good job learning the concept of Place around distractions, especially considering he's only 4 months old!

We're careful not to push him too much for his age, but these foundational concepts of waiting for permission to go eat food, say hi to guests, go outside, etc. are going to be SO helpful for his owners to be able to control this black bear as he grows bigger (and stronger)!

Sully is starting to learn what the Place command is!

Since he's a baby puppy, we're keeping it fun and short, teaching him to stay in Place for no more than a couple minutes at a time, around different distractions in the house.

As he grows older, he'll be able to hold the Place command for a much longer time and around any distraction!

The Place command gives us a dog that can stay out of the way when we clean the house, cook, have guests over, eat dinner, have a Zoom meeting, play a board game, etc etc.

Look at how Sully's learned to politely wait until the water bowl is set down and for his owner to give the "ok" to go drink!

Sully LOVES water and would spill the water all over the floor when his owners would try to set it down for him 😄
