We had a bit of confusion with our dates, however since it was posted for May 5th Almost Home Rescue will honor that date.
They will be set up from 7:00pm- 8:30pm for the application process.
Options are listed below, you do not need to bring your pet during the registration process.

I try to always take applications for the low cost Almost Home Spay/Neuter program on the first Saturday of the month at the old Carr Creek High School. The next time I will be taking applications is April 6, 2024 from 10:30 to 12. Cats are $65 and dogs are $130. That includes 2 vaccines and pain meds. I also have applications for the Pit Program done by Snip at Humane in Louisville. You have to turn in an application and pay before you are put on the list. Cash only right now. The pits are done at the Snip Clinic for free. We do ask that you pay $15 to help but gas to get the pits to the Snip Clinic.

Thank you Subway on Hindman and Hagans Town & Country Animal Clinic for providing lunch for our last spay/neuter day!

Less unwanted puppies and kittens this year. This week nearly thirty kiddos were spay and neutered through Almost Home Shelter Pet Rescue Low Cost Spay and Neuter program. We are grateful to their humans for using the program.

Thank you Dr. Lori Fuller D.V.M. for sharing the gifts God has gave you and your commitment to help lower the population in our mountain communities for the past eight years.

Special thank you to Hagans Town & Country Animal Clinic and Hindman Subway for providing lunch for the volunteers.

Any Hound or Pit mixes out there that need to be spayed or neutered? Signs ups are this Saturday at the old Carr Creek High school March 2nd 10:30-12! Surgery is FREE, but a $15 (CASH ONLY) non refundable fee is required to hold your spot and help with transportation costs!

If you need help transporting your animals on SURGERY DAY please contact Autum at 630-888-8738. She can try to help set up travel arrangements!

Almost Home Low Cost Spay And Neuter Program 2024

We will be at Carr Creek Saturday , MARCH 2 , 2024 from 10:30 to 12, with applications for the March Spay and Neuter day, weather permitting.There are a limited number of spots available. We will have applications at Carr Creek to be filled out.
If you want a spot in March and one is available you must turn in your application and money (Cash Only) to be put on the list. The spay day will be March for Carr Creek only for those who have turned in an application and paid before the date. Only a limited number of females will be accepted.
PayPal or check is not available.

Cats both male and female will be $65. Dogs under 40 lb. will be $130. This includes spay or neuter, rabies and one more vaccine and pain meds.
Lunch has to provided since the vet, vet tech and volunteers stay there from 7:30 AM until everything is done, usually around 5:40. Volunteers and donations are always needed. Dogs over 40 lb. will be put on wait list and will be done at Highland when we get an appointment there. Transportation to Highlands will be provided.

The application will ask when your female dog was last in heat. Any pet that has any sort of respiratory illness can not be given anesthesia to be spayed or neutered.
If you are coming to register Saturday bring your dog or cat so we can weigh it. Then you can wait until the morning of the surgery to bring it if you wish.
Applications will also be available for the free pit program on March 2.

If you are planning to get straw today, PLEASE bring your own garbage bag!! Straw will be split up by slat! 1 slat per outdoor pet!! We are trying to maximize our supply to help as many pets as possible!

With the freezing temperatures ❄️ rolling in next week, we need to make sure our furry friends living outdoors have proper shelter to keep warm!

Thanks to our amazing volunteers at Almost Home Shelter Pet Rescue and donors we will be handing out straw for small outdoor animals (dogs and cats) at the following locations this weekend 1/13-1/14 ❗️WHILE SUPPLIES LAST! ❗️It will be first come first serve!! Below are the times and locations we will be at by County! You do not have to live in the counties to get straw! It is for anyone who needs it!
