💜🐾❄️ YOUR PUPS GET COLD TOO! 💜🐾❄️

Don’t forget: if you’re cold, your dog probably is too! Dogs should never spend prolonged periods outdoors in freezing temperatures without appropriate gear or shelter. Here’s a guide to help you protect your furry friends: In our current temps we’re probably at short potty breaks only for most size dogs…unless you have a Husky or other winter loving outdoor breed of dog.

🐾 Protect those paws!

Cold temperatures and icy ground can hurt your dog’s paws. Protective booties prevent frostbite, salt burns, and injuries from sharp ice. If booties aren’t an option, paw balms and thorough cleaning after outdoor time help keep their feet healthy.

Meet Calista – the ultimate cool girl! One of Mama Dior’s beautiful puppies, Calista is looking for a loving foster home where she can continue to shine. She’ll be 5 months old on January 7th and is as sweet as they come.

Calista is playful, affectionate, and a little shy at times – the perfect mix of fun and cuddles. She’s crate-trained and doing well in the house with supervision. Mama Dior is a black Lab mix, but we’re not sure what other breed magic makes up this adorable girl – just that she’s 100% lovable!

🚨 Emergency Fosters Needed TODAY! 🚨

Our basement has flooded, and we urgently need fosters for 6 adorable puppies—right now!

These sweet pups are crate-trained and just need someone to:
🐾 Let them out every 4 hours (or if they bark).
🐾 Give them a safe space to stay until we can resolve this emergency.
🐾 Enjoy some puppy snuggles—they sleep through the night!

Indy Friends- starting tonight with possible snow and moving into next week it’s going to be some of the coldest weather we’ve had since 2014 according so some weather outlets, with temps well below zero on several days-a polar vortex. If you have an extra crate maybe you can put them on your porch and cover them, and put some straw (not hay) inside- it won’t be ideal bit still a place for an animal in need to get out of the weather. If you see a stray do your best to get them in out of the weather- even if it’s just to a warm crate in your garage or blanets in your garage if you have other pets. You can get straw at Tractor Supply or Rural King usually less than $15 a bale. It still gives them a better chance than being outside. It’s gonna be a rought week for street dogs. If you know people who keep their dogs outside all the time- the law requires them to bring them inside- if you see dogs outside say something or call FIDO.

🐾 Chico is in His Foster Home! 🐾

Chico has settled into his foster home, and he’s already made a new best friend – Woodstock! 🐕❤️

Woodstock needed a new play buddy after Tiger left for her forever home, and Chico was more than happy to step in. These two are already thick as thieves, running, playing, and enjoying life together. 🥰

We’re so excited to see Chico thriving in his foster home and can’t wait to see what’s next for this sweet boy! Thank you to this amazing foster family for being willing to step up! I appreciate you sooo much!!

We are over the moon to announce that Mama Dior has found her forever home – and it’s with the same wonderful family that adopted Daisy and Denbay! 🐾❤️

This sweet girl is now officially part of the pack, and we couldn’t imagine a better place for her. She’s surrounded by love, her besties, and an incredible family who adores her. 🏡

Thank you to everyone who supported Dior on her journey to happily ever after. Seeing her settle in with Daisy and Denbay makes our hearts so full.

Mama Dior is currently on a home trial with Denbay and Daisy’s amazing family – and so far, things are going GREAT! 🎉

We’re crossing our fingers and toes that this sweet girl has found her forever home too. 🏡❤️ It would be so special for her to join her buddies Denbay and Daisy in this loving family!

🐾 Denbay & Daisy Have Been Adopted! 🐾

Oops, we thought we shared this exciting news earlier – but better late than never! Denbay and Daisy have been in their new forever home since November, and we couldn’t be happier for them! 🎉

These two sweethearts were adopted together by an incredible family we’ve known since my 16-year-old was in their daycare and preschool classes! It’s so special when adoptions feel like family, and we couldn’t ask for a more loving home for them. 🏡❤️

I even got to see them last week when I brought Dior for a home trial – and seeing these besties thriving together made my heart so full. 🥰

This sweet girl, who was loved and spoiled by the most wonderful foster family, has found her forever home!

The best part? She won't be going too far - Tiger has officially been adopted by the brother of her amazing foster family! Talk about keeping it in the family! We couldn't be happier for Tiger and her new family.

A BIG Thank you to the team at Specks Pet Supplies in Geist for being such great hosts for our adoption events and for generously donating supplies and items for our upcoming fundraising auction!

SCROLL to see their new adopters offer -some great items you get for free if you’ve newly adopted a pet! And information on their Wellness Clinics and what’s offered. This is such a great store and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable! Definitely worth checking out!

We did meet some fantastic people today but no adopters for Chico unfortunately! He was so well behaved that everyone who met him was impressed with his manners and behavior considering he’s a puppy!

We’ll be back at Specks on January 18th for our next adoption event! Hope to see you there!

Well I had to pick up Karma from boarding today. She has temporary placement for another week. We REALLY need a foster for her!! She is so far a fantastic dog! She loves the car, loves every person she meets, likes to cuddle and play with her toys. We said she needs to be an only dog- we aren’t sure yet if that’s totally true. Yes, she sometimes barks at other dogs, and sometimes she doesn’t. If she’s loose she will investigate the other dogs in crates with no behavioral reactions, she’s curious but well behaved. She does bark when she’s in a crate and other dogs are out, but she quieted down with direction. We will be doing some evaluations. She may just need slow introductions. We’ll keep you posted!
