Our Story and Rules
We are a Family owned and operated rescue that takes in turtles and tortoises that can't be cared for anymore and we find them new safe homes. Adoptions are FREE! No charge whatsoever. Anyone looking to adopt must have proof of safe environment and some knowledge of these creatures. We do not take in turtles or tortoises hit by vehicles or mauled by predatory animals. Please take them to the local animal hospital. People adopting or surrendering their turtle or tortoise must sign a form which go to the Department of environmental protection for records. If you're surrendering, please drop off in cardboard box or tupperware container, Please NO fish tanks.
NEW 2018 RULES:
We WONT be accepting turtles native to New Jersey. These species include: *Eastern Box Turtles *Spotted Turtles (unless purchased online or at a reptile show with proof of purchase) *Musk Turtles (Stinkpots or Mud turtles) *Common Snapping Turtles * Red Bellied Turtles *River Cooters *Eastern Painted Turtles *Bog Turtles *Wood Turtles *Northern Map Turtles (unless purchased online or at a reptile show with proof of purchase) *Diamondback Terrapins
