Hello everyone,

Thank you for attending our seminar yesterday. Special thanks to Bill Schaefer from HD retrieves for giving of his time and energy all day (12 hours) to learn about each handler's dog, each handler, and coach them individually. I thought Bill did an outstanding job and used the opportunities presented to educate not only the handler, but all who observed on how to train their retriever to be a better hunting companion.

Special thanks to Jeremy Lowry, his son James, and his three friends for being amazing bird technicians the entire day (zero no birds).

Special thanks to Mark Powell from Powell Veterinary Services for allowing the use of his land.

We hope to make this an annual event and would like to know how to improve it. I will be putting out a survey for you all to provide your valuable feedback.

Boom Town HRC is excited to announce we have partnered with Chris Jobman, owner, operator and head trainer of Flatlander Kennels to host an intermediate to advanced retriever training seminar.

The seminar will be at the world renowned Flatlander Kennels. Flatlander Kennels facilities are second to none. Chris and his team have built 50+ GRHRCH’s, which is the pinnacle of the hunt test game. FLK also has 20+ MNH’s, numerous QAA’s and hundreds of HRCH’s and MH’s. Team FLK trains and competes in both AKC and HRC hunt tests with an extremely high pass rate at weekend tests and the National level.

The seminar will focus on field setups for the season/senior level dogs up to the finished/master level dog. How to get the most out of these setups with multiple levels of dogs. Chris will give the handlers one on one coaching before, after and during the setup.

To get the most out of the seminar for the handler teams and observers, the handler dog teams should be a solid seasoned level. They should be reliability delivering to hand. There will be 15 dog handler team available and unlimited observers allowed.

We hope to see all the retriever hunt test venues represented, HRC, AKC, APLA and anyone else that enjoys a well trained retriever. This is a great opportunity to for all levels of amateur trainers to learn from the best.

Just a reminder that the PVHRC Annual Meeting is this Wednesday at Wholly Stromboli, 410 Denver Ave., Ft. Lupton, from 5:00 - 9:00pm. PVHRC will be providing light food and fountain beverages and you may purchase food and drinks from Wholly Stromboli.

The annual meeting will include election of new officers and, as a group, retaining or acquiring board members. We will also discuss the calendar for training days and other topics. The regular business meeting will start a 6:30. We hope to see everyone there.
