Learn how to work with nature and grow a thriving, successful garden (even without a green thumb!).

We've got a series of 2-hour workshops happening at the Fresh City Farm through the end of June where you'll learn about regenerative agriculture techniques, how they're saving the planet, and how they can be applied to your own food garden at home.

These workshops will be held mostly in a casual classroom format with demonstrations. There may be some hands-on components, and we will be at the farm so a hat, gloves, water and snacks are recommended.

$45 plus tax per person. There are some sliding-scale tickets available if you aren't able to cover the whole fee. Contact: [email protected]
150 Downsview Park Blvd (at the south end of the park)

Don't wait for May 2-4 to start your garden!

The 2024 Regenerative Agriculture Workshop Series is kicking off on April 27th dishing the dirt on the early-season crops that thrive in cooler spring temps.

Join us at The Farm (150 Downsview Park Blvd - south end of the park) to learn which varieties you should focus on and when to plant them. You’ll learn how to add warmth to your crops so that you can start harvesting and enjoying your own food sooner!

The workshops will run for 2 hours between 10 am and 12 noon. We'll be looking at the particulars of Fresh City Farm's methods, mostly in a casual classroom format with demonstrations. There may be some hands-on components, and we will be at the farm so a hat, gloves, water and snacks are recommended.

$45 plus tax per person. There are some sliding-scale tickets available if you aren't able to cover the whole fee. Contact: [email protected]

Spots are limited so get your tickets now at the link in bio!

Earthworms scaling the greenhouse 😅.

We welcome these little friends around the farm because they play a super important role in soil health by breaking down organic matter, aerating the soil, improving its structure, and increasing nutrient availability for plants. Their activity also encourages beneficial microbial populations, further enriching the soil ecosystem. The real MVPs!

The Fresh City Story

Fresh City, founded in 2011 by Ran Goel, is a city farm and retailer of farm-fresh, organic produce and prepared food. Each day we make locally and organically sourced chef-inspired meals, salads, snacks and breakfasts from scratch. In late 2018 we acquired Mabel’s Bakery, a popular bakery in Toronto, producing artisan breads and pastries. Shortly after, in early 2019, we acquired The Healthy Butcher, a pioneer in organic and 100% grass-fed beef. We farm in Downsview Park as well as at Baka on Highway 427, and we have eight retail locations between our three brands. Fresh City delivers straight to our customers’ doors or to pick-up locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area. By bringing makers and eaters together, we are changing how people think about food.
