We want to thank the many people who have collected and donated shoes for our Fundraiser. This year we have less shoes being donated and we are not near our goal of 100 bags. We still have about 3 wks to collect, and we were hoping more people would be able to donate. We would be happy to pick up the shoes at your home if possible, or give you many drop off locations in the South Jersey area.
In the past years when we did this fundraiser, it was so successful and we were hoping this one would be also.
Thank you in advance for help and support in meeting our goal.

Miss Daisy has settled into her Foster Home so well. She recently decided she wanted to try the couch out to take her naps, and she is so good at making a nest out of blankets.
She is Loving her walks and outings meeting the her neighbors and their dogs and kids.
Her surgery site has healed so well. We have her on anti-inflammatory meds for her arthritis in her back legs, and we are going to look into some therapy, water/laser to help with the arthritis.
She sends her love and thanks again to her friends who are following her and helped with her medical care. 😍

Daisy's surgery was a success and is healing well. The tumor was a type of cancer, Adenocarcinoma, but we are hoping it won't spread anywhere else. She is feeling wonderful and has so much more energy as you can see from the video below.

If your dog or cat isn't Microchipped or they need vaccines, Gloucester County Shelter is having an event for both.
Microchips are so important to reunite lost pets with their owners.
The cost is very minimum considering how important chips and vaccines are.

Microchip Mania is BACK and is BETTER than EVER!

Director Frank J. DiMarco, liaison to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, has announced that the next County Microchip Mania event will take place on Saturday, August 10th , from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, located at 1200 North Delsea Drive in Clayton.

The Gloucester County Animal Shelter will be offering reduced price vaccines and microchipping. No appointment necessary. Cash or Card only.

The Shelter respectfully asks that dogs not be on retractable leashes and strongly discourages body harnesses for this event. All cats must be in carriers.

For more information about Microchip Mania, please contact Gloucester County Animal Shelter by email at [email protected] or by phone at (856) 881-2828.

*****Asking for Help to Find a Foster for Daisy*****

Once again, our Daisy is in need of a new Foster Home. Her last foster family had some personal problems and couldn't keep her. She is temporarily in a home but we really need a more permanent one.
Daisy is really the sweetest senior, so friendly, housebroken( may have a p*e accident but rare), loves to go on walks and LOVES going in the car for rdes. She is good with other dogs, but we don't know about cats. She is pretty much a food monger, and does like to be around where there is food or someone eating. But blocking her to the kitchen/dining area would be helpful with that.
She has good energy for a 13 yr old dog, but is also Chill and loves being with her person.

If anyone is interested in fostering our girl, please reach and we would be happy to discuss our Foster Program and go over any questions you may have.
The rescue will be responsible for all of Daisy's needs including
Medical, Food, Treats, Bedding, and will even walk her during the day if needed.

Thank you for any Help, in sharing Daisy's story.

Adoption Announcement we waited so long to be able to make.
Blake waited 3 months for a family to realize what a catch he was to adopt and give a forever home. He was about 7 months when we rescued him and he grew up to be a beautiful, loving and perfect dog.
We couldn't be happier that Barb and Mike realized how wonderful Blake was and what perfect match he was for them and their beautiful dog Molly.
Molly and he became instantly best friends, and Blake just loves his new Mom and Dad.
Thank you to Blakes's foster Mom, Chris Wilson and his foster brother and sister who welcomed into their home for 3 months.
Sometimes the best things are worth waiting for.
We wish Blake and his new family many many years of Happiness and Unconditional Love. ❤️

Update on our Rocco Boy. His surgery went well and that nasty mass is gone. Thank you Dr. Howesmith from PetPT for taking great care of our guy, for this surgery and for many years for his arthrtis.
Rocco recovered well over the weekend thanks to his foster Mom Tammy and Foster Dad Chris. He is now feeling better and doing his impersonation of his doppelganger Rock Dog.
Thank you to everyone who wished him well and has always supported his care.

His invoice for his surgery is in comments. This was an unexpected expense, so if you are in the position to donate to help us pay the balance $546.00, of this invoice please do through:
www.wjva.org/donate Payapal
or Venmo : -Rescue as friends and family

Other ways of helping us raise money is helping us with our
Shoe Drive Fundraiser, by collecting shoes for us. We will be happy to pick them up from you or give you drop off locations.
Thank you for your support and generosity.

Rocco in his Happy Place in the car between the seats helping me drive. Rocco had an appointment at PetPT on Monday, and I was so glad I was able to take him. He has been in a wonderful Forever Foster Home for 1 1/2 years and doing so well. But his foster Dad told us he was chewing at a small mass in his groin and opened it up and it was very ugly, We Saw Dr Taylor and she definitely said it had to be surgically removed, so we were able to make an appointment for tomorrow Friday 26th.
Rocco is pretty healthy for a 15 yr old senior gentlemen, other than his arthritis in his legs and hips which he take meds for. So we hoping for a smooth surgery with no problems and he recovers well.
If you could send him Positive Thoughts we would appreciate it. 💙🙏

Our Story

The most important part of being a foster based rescue, it having foster homes to take care of the rescued dogs once they come out of the crowded shelters. Without fosters we are so limited in how many dogs we can save. Fostering helps us take care of any medical needs fo the dog, getting to know the dog, so we can make the best match for the family adopting the dog. While in foster care the dogs will get all medical care and treatment for any illness they have. They will get exercise, socialization, good food, training and love and care. This makes them more adoptable and a better dog. We choose our foster homes almost like our adopter homes. The dog must fit well the family fostering. If the family has children, they would only foster dogs good with children and the same with other animals. We supply and pay for all food and treats and chews, also all medical care and preventatives. The only thing we ask of our foster families, is to supply Love, Security and Patience.

We are in need of more foster homes, please consider opening your home and hearts to a dog in need. The normal foster time is approx. 2 - 6 months.

Fostering saves and enriches lives. Interested in fostering please contact us via FB message or email us at [email protected]. Thank you so much.
