The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog .

Our hearts are broken that lives were lost yesterday. Everyone has been working so hard, every day, to avoid a day like that but the numbers were not in our favor.

Want to foster?
1. Complete the application (link below) - they are usually approved within 1-2 days.
2. Once approved, come to the shelter (we have two locations)! Either check out the website ahead of time or walk the kennels to find a dog you think you’d be a good match for! Approved fosters can take a dog no matter if they’re spayed or neutered. You will work with staff to get that appointment set up.
3. Head home with the dog! We will try and supply you with crates, food, toys, etc. Vet care is provided on site and there are emergency services available too.
4. Market your pup! Once you get to know them, share them on social media, see if they’d like going out to breweries or other high traffic areas (some may not and that’s ok!), take them for hikes, etc. You become their biggest advocate in getting them adopted.
5. Going on vacation but still want to foster? We can likely help! Lots of fosters provide coverage for one another and we have a boarding fund that allows foster dogs to stay at local boarding facilities, too.

Not sure about fostering? Send us a message! We’re happy to answer any questions. You can also try a staycation, a 2-5 day break where the dog stays with you at your home! You can apply to become a foster during that time if you want to keep them longer!

Dogs like Glen still have a chance if you’re willing to help them.💙

Continuing the Legacy of Dennis Romeo through his Dog Shelby & The Angels with fur, that he fought hard to save!

One of the things that seemed to really resonate with Dennis Romeo, Host of the A.M.News and part of the America Matters Media Network in Reno, Nevada was a deep concern and love for those that need us most! Homeless dogs and (cats) needed a voice, shelter from the storm, and some long deserved unconditional love! So, you spoke, we listened, and what did we do you ask? Well we created a program that through sharing on social media, places these sweet loving animals right where they belong, one dog (and cat) at a time! We called this the A.M.News Adopt a Dog Program, & together with Dennis, we helped place these sweet pups and the occasional kitty too in loving homes! Sadly, however, our beloved friend and host of the show, Dennis Romeo, passed away suddenly with his wife & his dog Shelby by his side on the evening of January 3rd 2018. SO...the show must go on as they say in radio and tv, and we know Dennis would have wanted us to continue the cause, so we the correspondents, both American & throughout the world, have decided to dedicate this page in his memory by continuing the legacy he felt so compassionately about, The animals that get left behind in shelters across the country and who nobody seems to want or love! We have a great track record so far, and we plan to continue the tradition! Sharing is caring, so please take that quick 10 seconds and share the post to your personal timeline and anywhere else you think it might benefit this worthy cause! Thank You for your time! Dennis, We love you, We miss you so much already, and we will do our very best to make you proud! “We ask that you look down upon us Dennis, and please watch over us as we do what we have to do to make a dogs dream come true!” With love, and our deepest sympathy to your family & your sweet Shelby girl,

Fondly, Your A.M. News Family & Correspondents!
