Sometimes we’re faced with choices that shake us.
Paths that feel uncertain. Moments where doubt creeps in.
But even in the quiet, even when the world feels heavy—
you still get to choose.

Choose courage, even when you're scared.

A heartfelt thank you to Senator Kelly Dooner, Steven Howitt for State Representative, State Representative Steve Xiarhos and K9 Officer Erik Blair along with K9 Warner K9 Flexx and Retired/Police K9 Mr. Warner.. of the Springfield Police Department for standing proudly in support of Dakota’s Law.
This non-partisan legislation is about one thing: doing right by the K9 heroes who serve our communities.
K9 Officer Erik Blair and his wife went so far as to pay out of pocket to cover the cost of care for K9 Warner in retirement—a sacrifice no family should have to make after years of dedicated service.
Dakota’s Law ensures that these K9s receive the care they’ve earned, without placing the burden on the families who stood beside them.

🇺🇸🐾 Honoring Our Fallen K9 Heroes 🐾🇺🇸
Today, we remember all the Military Working Dogs (MWDs) who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We especially honor K9 Bak, who was killed in action on March 11, 2013, while courageously serving in Afghanistan. K9 Bak wasn’t a piece of equipment—and he wasn’t just a dog.,he was a fellow soldier, a loyal warrior who stood side-by-side with our troops and gave his life defending our freedom. We will never forget his sacrifice. Thank you! K9 Bak's handler and many others are alive today because of his courage.

Our solemn duty is to protect the K9 heroes entrusted to our care a promise we make to every handler who retires their partner to us.
No one wants to take legal action against their town, but when officials forget who they serve and allow K9 heroes to suffer, doing nothing is not an option. We didn’t start this fight—but for the voiceless, the loyal, and the brave… we will finish it.

A huge thank you to all the incredible K9 teams and Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog Paws 4 Blue K-9 Rehoboth K9 Edo police Department K9 @ Springfield Police Department who came out today in support of Dakota’s Law. Your presence meant more than words can express.

We are deeply grateful for the extra time you took to understand the safety protocols and rules here at the Center. Your respect, professionalism, and compassion remind us why we do this work.
