Trying to beat the heat, we were out bright and early this morning.
We then had a go at the wrapping paper theme, another disaster with paper that was "too busy" and pups looking as sad as they possibly could and a hat which refused to stay on their heads 😂

I do believe they've had enough of me and my camera 🤔

After our human Mum totally embarrassing us last week with the "Wild West" saga you'd think she'd learnt her lesson and stopped this nonsense.
Oh no, we couldn't be so lucky.
This week, she dreamed up a "Beach" theme.
None of us were impressed until we got to play outside afterwards.
We particularly hated the sombreros, and as soon as we get the chance, we're going to chew them up!

Unfortunately, Mum didn't notice the backdrop was so wrinkled for quite some time, and was then heard to mutter "Bad luck, I'm not starting again" 😂

Hopefully mum has come to the conclusion she's terrible at this and now stops 🤞🤞🤞

So...in my head I had planned an awesome photo shoot with cowboys, cowgirls, akubras, bandanas and miniature hay bales for our almost 4 week old babies👌
In reality, OMG what a disaster 😂

No wonder they say don't work with kids and animals, lesson learnt 😄

After ages trying to get it right, we resorted to Plan B but it was warm outside by then so after a couple of minutes we had to give up.

Better luck next week 🤞🤞🤞

Unfortunately an outbreak of Canine Parvovirus (CPV) is affecting South East Queensland.

Common symptoms include:

-Lethargy and weakness
- Severe bloody diarrhoea
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Loss of appetite

"In puppies aged between six weeks and six months, it can be fatal (the death rate in young non-vaccinated puppies can be greater than 80 percent), although early vaccination has been effective... Common signs of parvo-affected puppies include initial tiredness and not wanting to play. The next signs will include vomiting, followed by very foul smelling dysentery or diarrhoea." - Vet Voice, Australian Veterinary Association

Please contact your trusted veterinarian as soon as possible if your dog shows any signs of Parvovirus.

Snake bites....

After having 4 snake bite victims (and 1 which was brought in as a possible snake bite victim) come into the vet clinic where I work last week, I thought I'd post this.
(Please note I am not a vet, just the dummy assistant 😊).

If you think your dog or cat has been bitten by a snake, get them straight into the car and get to your nearest vet clinic as quickly as possible.
CALL THE CLINIC and advise you're coming in and an eta.
Several of the victims arrived last week with no notice and it then becomes chaotic when the veterinary staff are dealing with other cases.
If we have warning, we can be prepared.

If you are unsure if your pet has been bitten but they are unsteady on their feet, vomiting, frothing, lethargic, paralysis etc, bring them in.
If you see them near a snake and not sure if the snake may have bitten them but they're not showing symptoms, still take them in. It's much safer to get them checked than to wait and then have them deteriorate.

If you can identify the type of snake involved, awesome but please don't waste valuable time looking for the snake.
Also, my vet/boss has told me of cases where people have brought the live snake to the vet with them. Please don't do that 😂

*** Thank you for the enquiries, of which there were quite a few. At this stage Nacho is having a Meet and Greet on Sunday 🤞***

Unfortunately, we have a boy here we need to find a perfect forever home for.
Nacho is just over 2 years old, full euro lines, house trained, walks well on the lead, travels well in the car, desexed, up to date with vetwork and loves his people.
Nacho has been living with another Maraquita Boxer boy who is 4.5yrs since a baby but has now decided that he wants to be top dog.
Because of this, we need to find a home with a friendly girl, or as an only dog.
