Please keep Heaven Scent Search and Rescue in your thoughts over the coming weeks as they deal with the unexpected loss of K9 Malikai.

The bond between a handler and a K9 is something that can't be explained easily. Not only do these K9s work and serve their community, but they become part of your family and loosing them is harder than you could ever imagine.

We first met the young lady who wrote this book several years ago, and since then she has become a very close friend and helper to our team!

During her quest for knowledge about K9 Search and Rescue she has spent countless hours in all sorts of weather and conditions helping our team, as well as several other local teams, train and continue our SAR mission to help the community and those in need.

Her first children's book was just released and we figured the least we could do was help her get the word out after all she has done for the SAR community!

We drove down to Ashville this morning to pick up this flag for Rob's great aunt.

Update Found Safe on the outskirts of the borough limits of Waynesboro. Thank you to Manifested Search Team, an up-and-coming central PA Search Organization. Their founder works with Missing People In America directly, he was out all morning hanging up flyers. Because of getting his flyer out there, the public was able to recognize the missing boy. Manifested Search Team along with PSP rushed to the area and was able to find him in the woods.

Last seen heading down hykes road in Greencastle at about 4:30 pm. On a run due back within the hour , before dark. Wearing a black hoodie and jogging pants and running shoes.

It has been a very rough week for our team!

Last Thursday night K9 Jane began vomiting and was not acting herself. By Saturday morning we had realized that this was not just a normal stomach irritation from something she had eaten and that something was seriously wrong.

We took her to CPVETS in State College Saturday morning and after several tests they discovered that she had an Acute Kidney Injury for an unknown reason. It was very touch and go for a few days and we weren't sure at one point if she was going to fully recover.

We are happy to report the K9 Jane has improved greatly and she was able to return home tonight to rest and continue to recover!

We can't thank CPVETS and their staff enough for taking great care of Jane and doing everything possible to get her back to health!
