Ella out training with her mum today. Nina is a good influence. Ella definitely has her straight line speed, possibly even faster than I remember Nina having at the same age. As well as scaling these steep banks, Ella also has to cross the stream at the bottom of the valley. It's a lot for a young dog at not even 12 months, but she's taking it all in her stride. I'm really pleased with how this litter is turning out. So much ability and bidability

A more complicated memory retreive for Ella along undulating ground and up the bank. Her natural ability is reminiscent of her mum, and I have to keep reminding myself not to push her too much. That said, she seems to take everything in her stride. Bags of drive, and fast.

From training with the @sportingsaint Pheasant Dokken, to retrieving the real thing. Hughjack Georgie's Miracle (Ella), picking a hen bird today at the @montreal_sporting last big commercial day of the season. At 9 months old, she is showing as much natural ability and confidence as her mother. The traits we had hoped would come through in the litter.
This retreive was set up as a memory. As Ella is still young, she remained in the truck throughout the day, coming out between drives to get used to the sights and smells of a shoot day. This kind of desensitisation is key for a steady working dog. A slow and controlled introduction will hopefully lead to a calm first day out next season when she does it all for real

Nina and Bob absolutely smashing it yesterday at the Glassenbury shoot. Nina has so much trust in me. She hadn't marked the first pricked bird, but went off the arm and found the right one, pushing up several healthy ones along the way. She also found the second pricked bird I sent her for but the phone stopped recording! Bob really coming into his own as a game finder. Getting more confident with every day
