We are no longer breeding as our 3 females are retired, but we have one yellow (nearly white) stud and two black upcoming studs.

We whelp and raise foster dogs for Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups. We at Labs by the Lake are a small family breeder with a great love for Labrador Retrievers. We produce mainly very light yellow and black Labradors, but chocolates are possible. Our goal is to produce healthy, breed correct, good-natured that will bring joy to their adoptive families. We breed only Labradors that are healthy, have OFA

certifications of "good" or "excellent" on their hips and "normal" for elbows, as well as having a "clear" CERF certification for their eyes. All Labs by the Lake dogs are family pets, raised and cared for in our home, not in kennels. This allows us to create a strong bond with all of our dogs and all of our puppies. We place our puppies only with people who will love them as much as we do.

Girlie went home to her owner on Monday-she was SO excited to see him. I sent the puos to 2 other fosters for the last two weeks-they ranged from 14-16 pounds at 7 weeks!

I was supposed to get this very pregnant coonhound yesterday that was dumped by a coal mine in KY-but she decided to give birth to her 12 puppies yesterday, so they will be coming next Saturday!

💔No one ever came forward for this handsome boy. We all know that German Shepherds do NOT do well in the kennel environment. Jethro unfortunately is no exception. He is struggling already. He is terrified in his kennel. He will venture to take treats from you. But will retreat when you try to get him out for a walk 😭

This precious boy is estimated at 2 yrs old and 67 lbs. He doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs but as always a meet and greet is required. He’s starting to trust little by little. He will need time and patience to feel safe again. Breed experience preferably.

An 83-year-old woman, impeccably dressed every morning at 8 a.m. with her hair done in the latest fashion and makeup flawlessly applied, was preparing to move into a retirement home. The recent death of her husband had prompted this new chapter in her life.

After hours of waiting patiently in the home's hallway, a gentle smile spread across her face when she was informed that her room was ready. As she slowly maneuvered her walker toward the elevator, she was given a detailed description of the small space that would be hers, including the curtains hanging in the window.

"I love it," she said, her voice filled with the enthusiasm of a young child receiving a new pet.

“Mrs. Jones, you haven’t even seen the room yet, just wait,” the staff member gently reminded her.

“That doesn’t matter,” she replied with a calm certainty. “Happiness is something you choose every day. Whether I like my room or not has nothing to do with the furniture or the layout—it’s about how I choose to think. I’ve already decided that I like it. I make that decision every morning when I wake up. I could stay in bed, focused on the things that don’t work anymore, or I can get up and be grateful for the things that still do.”

Molly is terrified💔. She trembles in her kennel. She tries to hide and make herself smaller. You can see the sadness in her eyes. She's not doing well at the pound at all. It's too much for her.

After sitting with this sweet little girl for quite a bit and earning her trust with yummy food, we finally ventured out for a little walk. She was timid, but wanted to trust. She really is such a good girl. She's just heartbroken and confused.

Molly is thought to be a husky mix. She's only around 1 year old and weighs just 31 lbs. She's very thin. She has great leash manners, knows commands, and will give you her paw, is treat motivated, and doesn't mind the other dogs (meet required).

Molly needs a hero. Someone who can save her from the chaos of the pound. A family that will give her the time and patience she needs to feel safe and loved. Please get your application in as soon as possible. We don't want this poor girl to have to spend one more night scared and all alone😭. -Wendi

Meet King 💔

King is new to the pound and has found himself in a small crate spending his days. The pound is beyond full with no end in site. This boy is confused and doesn’t understand how he ended up here.

King is estimated to be about 3 years old and 54lbs. He is the most gorgeous boy! He knows his manners and is so lovable. He has already met other dogs and done very well, but a meet and greet is always required. We are shocked no one came looking for the absolutely PERFECT boy!

Come meet King for yourself and get him out of this crate! He deserves more than this! Can you be the one to give him the life he’s always deserved?

Thanks to Warden Bailey, he did get to play a couple times today so he wasn’t stuck in a crate the entire day!
