Many people believe that, if their dog is microchipped, they don't need a tag with their contact details on their collar.
Although it is possible for your dog to be reunited with you via microchip, the UK law states that every dog, when in a public place, MUST wear a collar with their owner's name and address either on the collar, or on an identification tag attached to it.
Legally, you are required to include your name and address on your dog's ID tag.
Personally, I think this law is very outdated and I can see many issues with having your address on your dog's tag, however that's what the law requires.
I would highly recommend adding a phone number onto your tags, as this is by far the quickest way for you to be contacted if the worst does happen.
At Skyline Walks I provide tags for all dogs to wear while out on walks with me as an extra safety precaution.
They include my number and say "I'm with my dog walker" 🐾
