Mary Farinacci, the owner of Mary's Pet Project, started out as an elementary school teacher. When Mary was ready for a change, she decided to start her own pet sitting business. Now the days are filled with four-legged kids instead of two-legged ones. She considers starting Mary's Pet Project one of the best decisions she ever made and has no desire to ever return to teaching. The kids she works

with now are much happier to see her than her students ever were... her students never ran around in circles and jumped up and down like her adorable pet clients do. At Mary's Pet Project, we have taken care of a wide variety of animals over the years, not just cats and dogs. Other popular pets have included pocket pets, birds, fish, rabbits, and reptiles. Our pet clients are pampered and cared for while staying in the comfort of their homes. At the same time, the pet parents have peace of mind when they have to leave their furry, feathered, or finned children at home. We offer a variety of services including pet sitting visits, dog walks, house sitting, and cat boarding. We will work with you to put together a customized service package that meets the needs of you and your pets while maintaining routines as close to normal as possible. We are licensed, bonded, and insured and a member of Pet Sitters International. We are also a 4-time winner of the Modesto Business Award for Pet Sitting. Mary's Pet Project isn't just about providing professional pet sitting services, we are here "For Pampered Pets and Peace of Mind." Our Story

Mary Farinacci, the owner of Mary’s Pet Project, started out as an elementary school teacher. Occasionally she took care of the pets of friends and co-workers while they were out of town or on vacation. When Mary took her own well-deserved summer vacations, she lined up pet sitters to take care of her own precious fur babies. This means that she understands pet sitting from the perspective of both the owner and care provider.

When Mary had finally had enough of teaching, she decided to start her own pet sitting business. Now the days are filled with four-legged kids instead of two-legged ones. Her pet clients are pampered and cared for while they get to stay in the comfort of their homes. At the same time, the pet parents have peace of mind when they have to leave their furry, feathered, or finned children at home.

At Mary’s Pet Project, we have taken care of a wide-variety of animals over the years... cats, dogs, birds, fish, rabbits, reptiles, turtles and tortoises, chickens, horses, snakes, guinea pigs, frogs, a llama, a tarantula, and a pig. If you have some other kind of animal, just fill us in on its needs and we will take care of it while you are away.

We offer a variety of services including pet sitting visits and overnight stays, dog walking, pet transportation, and house sitting. We will work with you to put together a service package that meets the needs of you and your pets and maintains their routines as close to normal as possible.
