So, you may have heard things are going to be a tad rough for the Blinkman. A nerve sheath tumor has been found that is causing me a lot of pain in my right front leg. Luckily Kate is on top of this & with some help from a nice neurologist & an acupuncturist I am currently on lots of great meds & feeling better.
Some dogs need to live a long time in an attempt to be special (think of some of those nasty little dogs who live to 18+ & never achieve anything!). Others, like me are exceptional right from early on.
Starting out at Coyote Run South, with Deb, I attained great honors. I earned my TD having to swim Lake Champlain (Deb edit here - there were a couple puddles, no lake involved). I was a superb herding star, including RHIT at a trial with at least a thousand runs (Deb edit - not quite that many, but a big Northeast trial nonetheless).
My breed CH required the help of a few friends like Janet O & Mary C. Rumors of me "melting" on the exam table are just that - rumors. The sort of thing that follows every super star.
I taught Deb to watch for ears doing barn hunt & earned my barn hunt CH. That training is now helping Deb with Ms Mac!
It wasn't easy, but between Kate & Deb I managed to keep them in line to earn my CD. I am so versatile I did rally with both of them.
I moved to Coyote Run North when it became evident that the house down south wasn't big enough for two amazing dogs like Doc & me. Kate has been my agility partner & she wasn't half bad. Kate managed to hold it together to earn my Masters in rally.
I have been a superb companion to Lynah & have done my best to be a good influence on Bruni - not easy at times!!!
I am the "good dog" who does duck chores. I learned to paddleboard & have even done a bit of swimming! so, ha ha!, "Blink Sinks" doesn't fit any more!
I have trained up Mike to be a pretty good Corgi slave. He was actually a pretty quick study. His whole family plus all the staff where Kate works basically worship me - deservedly, of course.
So, the story isn't over yet, my friends. Corgi Strong, Corgi Tough!
