What a weekend! Love my little orange army! 🧡

Lots of smiles, yummy Birthday cake (Happy Birthday Lily) and five very good ponies in what was our first group hack!!! A rather daunting experience for me but nevertheless a very successful jolly. 🧡

Q - What do you call two non horsey Dads / Husbands?

A - LEGENDS!

Q - How do you get two non horsey Dads / Husbands to smile while being at a livery yard?

A - Let them make things and give them beer!!

WINNING! 🍻

A huge thank you to Andy and Paul for building our new hay barn! You’ve both saved me from getting any splinters and made a load of ladies very happy! Let’s face it, who wouldn’t be happy to have a hay barn WITH doors!? 🤩 Which obviously means less time tidying up any loose hay and more time riding!!! THANKING YOU 🙌🏼🧡🐴

Before I get too wrapped up in this year’s Christmas festivities, I’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Wishing love, luck and good health to you all 🧡

NMD Equine Lettings 🏡🐴🧡

Due to a change in the livery services now provided, I now have availability for two lucky individuals to take up residency with myself at Sunray Farm in West Clandon, providing a seven day DIY assisted livery package. 🙋🏻‍♂️☀️🐴

Presenting to you all, two airy stables situated within a gated community, providing ample storage space for the sole use of these two individual lettings. Along with these stables on offer, allocated individual / shared outdoor space is also provided. All residents are able to enjoy their days taking in the beautiful scenic views Sunray Farm has on offer 365 days a year! Applications for single occupancy along with applications for a couple are welcomed.
🧔🏻‍♂️🐴✔️ 🧔🏻‍♂️🐴🐴✔️

In addition to the above, this gated community offers a newly surfaced sand school along with floodlights, allowing education to be continued regardless of the daylight on offer. With Newlands Corner in close proximity, those that do enjoy their country strolls will be spoilt for choice with the various routes available, with and without road work required. 🚸♾️🖼️

A seven day assisted DIY livery service is provided to all residents. The assistance offered in this exclusive residency includes breakfast in bed, the changing to appropriate attire for the day ahead as well as chaperoning its residents to their allocated outside areas in the AM. A basic hard feed is included along with hay. Bedding is also supplied to residents with one bale of shavings being offered twice a week should they require. Additional services are available should they be needed such as vehicle parking, lessons, schooling and further assistance with husbandry when in need. 😊

To find out more information about this very unique letting, please do not hesitate to contact me directly via 📧 or ☎️

02/11/2023

Yesterday marked one whole year of NMD Equestrian being based at Sunray Farm. Chapter One: Completed ✔️ Three hundred and sixty five days completed and left behind. I’m still in shock at just how quickly the year has gone, time truly does fly when you’re having fun…. Or when you just don’t have time to be clock watching! 🙈

Many headaches have been had, sweat has been poured and many tears have flowed, both the happy kind and the not so. New friendships have been formed, many memories made, lots of belly laughs had, heaps of coffee drank and countless Yumyums eaten!

Personally speaking, it’s always the fellow equine enthusiasts that make a yard and not so much the fancy facilities it has on offer. I’m very fortunate as well as honoured to be not only trusted with another’s much loved steed but to also be surrounded and supported by a truly amazing bunch of people. The love is felt and the appreciation is shown by all 🧡

My thanks and appreciation goes out to all my long standing clients for all their patience and understanding over the last year. You’ve all played a vital part in getting me to where I am now for which I’ll be forever grateful. I’d also like to thank a very special friend, known on the yard as my “Yard Wife” for all her help, support, organisation skills and so much more! From starting out as a client to being a friend to who is now more like a sister! THANK YOU VICKY! And to her (real life) husband, Andy. Not all hero’s wear capes! 😉

Roll on Chapter Two!

With love and thanks,
Nick @ NMD Equestrian 🧡

Facebook status update - “What’s on your mind?”

Me - “Where do I begin?” 🤦🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately and most inconveniently, I am now out of action for the foreseeable. This being due to a head injury and a fractured foot.

I can confirm that no horses are to blame!

Please bare with me while I recover.

Thanking you x

Sending my love and appreciation to all those that have stepped in to help and support. I’m very fortunate to have some truly amazing people around me that are pulling out all the stops to make this current situation more manageable. Thank you x

The saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day” signifies that great achievements don’t take place overnight. They require a continuous effort as well as lots of planning and patience. Achieving our goals requires not only time but for us to be prepared emotionally for all the highs and lows that greet us along the way.

Hard work certainly does pay off with time spent. My Baby Love has come on leaps and bounds, having started our journey together in March 2022 competing at Novice and now in September 2023 competing at elementary and standing our ground against some tough competition. The title “How to train a dragon” has been mentioned by many following some of our performances 🐲

For a thoroughbred who had her racing career terminated at an early age and now at 17 years old and taking on the world of Stressage, I’d say we are doing pretty well 🙌🏼

With thanks as always to her owner and friend, Emma 🧡🧡

Area Festivals at Fenning Farm. Not our best performance but lots of praise due for My Baby Love. She coped brilliantly being in a new venue with it being extremely busy aswell as hot! A busy warm up arena and with lots of horse boxes on the go, keeping her relaxed was no easy task but we managed! Onwards we go 🧡

I’m a firm believer that everyone should enjoy their horses and do as much as they can with them, regardless of discipline. Be that competing, fun rides, having lessons or simply boxing up to hack somewhere new.

For a much loved hobby that takes up so much time and constantly costs, having fun should be guaranteed!

I love seeing others out and enjoying themselves and will always encourage others to show off their steeds.

On Saturday Vicky, Laura and myself ventured to Windsor in our waterproofs, ready to take on the rain, thunder and lightning! Despite being drenched, we completed the ride, laughed lots, jumped what we could and raced each other where able on the long stretches of lush grass 😁

Another super outing for Team NMD 🧡 with a visit to Merristwood for some mid week dressage. Can’t beat a party on a school night to break the week up! 🕺🏻🪩💃🏻

Lots of smiles, a few ‘first time’ boxes ticked and as always guaranteed, lots of support and encouragement for everyone. Just the way it should be! 🤗

We do love a party!!! 🤭🐴🧡

💕NMD’s sexy singles match making service💕

Athletic red head seeks part time love from a new dancing partner 💃🏻

Annie is a mature, level headed lady who enjoys long country strolls, dancing, socialising and most of all, her sleep. This lovely lady is on the search for a kind and knowledgeable partner to wine and dine her on days to suit them and be prepared to contribute financially to her lifestyle.

Should this match work, the possibility of taking her out to parties and showing off her fancy foot work would be considered 💋🪩👯‍♀️🧡

🐴 Annie is a gorgeous girl standing at 16hh, nine years old and currently resides in Clandon, Surrey. She is a safe forward ride with breaks that work and always shows to be very willing to please. Unfortunately she won’t be suitable for a novice based purely on a safety point of view for both rider and Annie. Days to suit, financial contribution required and no stable duties involved. Fantastic hacking on our door step with friendly company usually available, floodlit school on site with lessons available at an extra cost should they be wanted.

Please message for further info 🧡

The very much loved Luna is now in search of a new love 💕 someone to cater to her every need, show off her fancy foot work and to add to her glowing BD report! 💃🏻

The very best of homes will only be considered for this lovable lass. Ideally someone kind and knowledgeable to gain her trust mentally and understand her requirements physically. A non jumping home will only be considered. Further info available by private message or phone call.

For your trust and understanding given I can assure you that Luna will repay you in love, lots of lovely comments as well as many rosettes, like she has won for me 🥇🥈🥉

Standing at 16’2 and aged just eight years old. Up to date with everything and available to view now in Surrey. She really is loaded with love and talent for the right partner 💕

It brings me so much happiness seeing owners and their horses that I work with so closely out and doing. Especially knowing first hand at just how much work they have put in. Witnessing the highs and the lows, the little break throughs when having lessons and the smiles that follow.

Friday evening myself and a few others ventured to Bookham Riding Club to take part in their dressage and clear round competition. We had smiles all round with everyone leaving with a ribbon in hand 🥇🥈🥉 and all beating their own personal goals or simply just ticking a box on that every growing to do list!

On Saturday we welcomed the lovely Camilla James over for a pole work clinic. Her formation of poles kept all riders and steeds on their toes, benefiting all in various ways. Her words of encouragement, guidance on what to do and the praise given left all feeling accomplished and hungry for more. Achieving just what I always strive to offer in giving the correct support and confidence within a safe place and without any judgment or negativity felt by anyone.

A very productive and positive weekend was had by all, just the way it should be 😁🧡🐴

🌸🌺🌸 Available for full loan 🌸🌺🌸

Primrose is a 12.2 hh 15yr old Welsh Section B. She is a fabulous lead rein or second ridden. Done PC rallies and camps in her last home, but has had a slightly quieter life with us for the last few years. History for the last 6 years known. Sadly outgrown so looking for a lovely loan home for her within an hr of Surrey. She said her ideal next home would be as a field companion with some little people to ride and fuss over her periodically!!! This girl gets under your skin, you cannot help but love her!! Happier living out, lives off fresh air! Currently has front shoes but only as the terrain where we are is rather stoney. References will be checked and a contract will be in place for this special girl.

Excellent to load, shoe, clip etc.

Up to date with vaccines, wormer, dentist, physio, saddler, the lot! Tack and wardrobe of good quality rugs included. Viewings in Clandon, Surrey.

Please feel free to PM for any further info or if would like to see some cute photos and videos of this little darling 🐴

Last week I got to dance with My Baby Love at Sparsholt Collage for the Celebration of Dressage and the lovely Luna at Pachesham Equestrian Centre in her second affiliated BD competition.

Both girls did not disappoint, scoring great marks, receiving some lovely comments, behaving impeccably and even bringing home a red ribbon! 🥇

He has super cool looks, a crafty personality, the sweetest laid back attitude and with a great name to match, I introduce you all to NIMBUS! …. Yep, I’m a Harry Potter fan! 🙋🏻‍♂️

Standing at 14hh and aged just four, this crafty but lovable chap is now on the search for a new postcode. An unexpected arrival following the purchase of his mum but very much a pleasant surprise! And now unfortunately a very sad sale, being no fault of his own. Heaps of photos and stories available!

Nimbus was broken in late last summer and since been produced slowly. He is a project but with good basic training in place for someone to bring on further. He has a lovely laid back attitude and is often found flat out snoring! Can be a kick along in the school but loves to hack.

Nimbus has a very trainable attitude and am certain will bring someone lots of happiness in whatever direction they decide to go in. More info available upon request but please no time wasters, dealers or novices.

Stabled in Surrey where he is currently being schooled on further till the very best home is found.

Please feel free to message me for further info 💫

What. A. Day. 😅

Not knowing where to begin explaining, im just going to let this photo taken earlier today do all the talking for me.

It’s heart warming knowing that tonight a number of people I’ve supported or assisted for various reasons recently will be going to bed feeling happy and content. Today was a day! Lots of smiles, lots of happy, positive texts of thanks and appreciation and LOTS of tears shed by a few. The happy sort of tears that you have no control over, the good tears! 🥲

It’s days like today that make those bad days a distant memory 🧡

Spiced things up yesterday by going to Coombelands with the gorgeous Finnegan, taking part in a one day event for his owner Annabel 🧡

I’ve been riding Flynn since March 2022, focusing purely on his flat work to which he has come on leaps and bounds. He’s a super smart chap and such a pleasure to ride! Being offered the opportunity to take him in a ODE was a no brainer, I jumped at the offer!

We managed to gain an excellent dressage score, being the best to date that Flynn has ever received. Starting off in second place didn’t last long as unfortunately we had four poles down in the SJ. The hot weather took its toll on us both but nevertheless I left the arena with a smile and with lots of praise for Flynn.

The XC course was a real treat and we floated round, tackling all that was put in front of us. Although a little quick we went clear and both come home safe, sound and pleased with the job done.

A big thanks to Annabel for the opportunity and to Finnegan for being such a delight! Not to forget all the familiar faces that come along to show their support and help 🧡🐴🧡🐴🧡🐴

Introducing Timmy! A super smart and flashy New Forrest pony who stands at 13’2. Timmy is ten years old and with very low mileage for his age. Purchased from the New Forrest at six months old and has stayed within the same family since, meaning full history known.

This little lad has a super keen jump, winning his two recent SJ classes at 75 and 80cm with a new pilot and with scope for much more. Last season Timmy was mainly hunting with the Ted worth Hunt where he showed great enthusiasm as well as being very well mannered throughout. As well as Ted worth, he has also hunted with the Kent and Surrey bloodhounds and the South down blood hounds where he has also been used to whip in.

A real fun pony that is easy to handle and vice free. Timmy is currently being sold on behalf of his owners who are more than happy to speak to anyone who shows a real interest. Sold with tack and currently stabled in Surrey where viewings will be held. Please PM for further info 😊

Rehabilitating a horse back from an injury can be a stressful experience for both the owner and the horse in question. A diagnosis that’s brings sadness can also bring hope with methods of a recovery. This however comes with stress, heartache, expense, self doubt, great days along with bad days. Not to mention the opinions from others, requested or often given freely, professional or not, with some being good and some not, leading us owners to only more self doubt and uncertainty, questioning if what we are doing as owners is enough for our much loved horses in their time of need.

Then comes the waiting game, with exercising usually increasing minute by minute, day by day, carrying out spercific exercises and sticking to the schedule designed for that horse and their recovery. This usually means no leisurely hacks, no lessons, no jumping, no shows, lots of walking in hand and if all is well, eventually under saddle.

Regardless of all that heartache and headache, we push forward with hope and positivity that all our efforts pay off for that desired outcome.

I joined Luna and her owners on that road to recovery, having already been rehabilitating with the help of others for some time. With the watchful eye of the vet and support from physios we received the green light to push forward and do! Party time! 🕺🏻

Luna pictured below competed at Merristwood on Sunday just gone, amazing us all with her attitude to do, having not ventured out in some time. We received some wonderful comments from the judges as well as scores, placing 11th out of a large class of 29 for Prelim 14.

We are all super pleased with Luna and already looking for another party to attend 🕺🏻🧡🐴

2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ has well and truly gotten off to a flying start for NMD Equestrian! 💫

Managing not just one but TWO pony parties for those that are stabled with me! I also welcomed my first short term resident to Sunray Farm to make use of my backing services. Now completed and sent on her way, with reassurance that I’ll be happy to help in the future should they need.

We’ve had hurdles to jump, such as the weather conditions but onwards and upwards we go! With more parties in the diary, individual goals set to be achieved, more short term guests lined up to stay and lots more smiles and laughs to be had by many!!

Currently in a moment of reflection, looking back on the last few months and I can honestly say that proud is an understatement for how I’m personally feeling right now. It’s been a struggle at times, managing not only the yard but also staying loyal to my longstanding freelance clients. It’s come with its headaches and at moments even tears! However the smiles and laughs have always overruled those moments of uncertainty and kept that drive to succeed going strong!

A first for me was having the ability to well up with happy tears while reading a dressage test for someone! I didn’t even think this was possible! However knowing personally how far both horse and rider have come on their journey together and the struggles both have faced mentally and physically made it all so much more special. To be apart of a journey with someone and knowing just how much that moment in time meant to them makes all the stress, long days, cold mornings, mud manoeuvring, de icing, super tiring days irrelevant. It’s a real joy and privilege to be apart of so many partnerships, all with their own struggles and goals and a pure delight when I see the hard work put in paying off with not only the results achieved but the huge smiles on display!!

Just knowing I helped make that person smile so bright and feel good about themselves with their horse makes all the daily struggles and hardships that come with horse ownership even more worthwhile and gives me even more drive to want to do it even better than I currently am.

Starting as I mean to go on, 2023 will be a year full off achieving, support, confidence and lots of smiles in and out of the saddle 😁🙌🏼🐴💫🧡
