They add so much love and laughter to our lives. Pawsatively Sweet was born out of a desire to not only give our dogs wholesome and healthy treats but also to give back to our community rescues and shelters. We bake fresh dog treats to order in our own oven. We use only pet approved, 100% human quality ingredients without additives or preservatives. Our treats are handmade in small batches to cont

rol quality. We use a wide variety of flours in our treats, such as oat, rice and barley, but never wheat, corn or soy. Muffins and most treats are soft baked and are suitable for senior dogs or highly active dogs. All of the ingredients in our treats are essential or beneficial to your dog's health. Because our treats are made with fresh natural ingredients with no harsh preservatives, we recommend storing them in your refrigerator. Treats can also be frozen for long term storage. If your dog has food allergies, please let us know. We are aware that pets can have reactions to any ingredient. It is important pay attention to ingredient labels pay attention to your dogs when feeding any of our products. E-mail us any time

UPDATE: If you currently have food out for this dog, please remove it and take inside. We need her to come consistently to one food station. Thank you!

‼️‼️Hi all…this female stray dog has been lost since July 2 in Watertown 😭 There has been many sightings but nothing for the past 3 days. She will not come up to anyone even if she doesn’t look scared. There are wonderful volunteers that are working on signs and fliers. If you see this dog, please call or text the number with the location and what direction the dog was heading. Please do not post the sightings on Facebook. DO NOT CHASE, YELL, OR APPROACH! Once she is consistently coming to a food station, we will work on trapping her. Please share with friends in Watertown!

Getting to be that time of year....

Lake Albert and Big Stone has some. Please use caution. Once one lake starts blooming, they all do.

[NOTE: This photo is just picture of a pond in the summer. NOT a picture of a pond with the toxin.] Cyanobacteria can have many different looks, including not being visible at all. Link to Kentucky Division of Water for more photos and information: https://eec.ky.gov/Environmental-Protection/Water/Monitor/Pages/HABS.aspx #:~:text=Harmful%20Algal%20Blooms%20Division%20of%20Water&text=A%20harmful%20algal%20bloom%2C%20or,skin%20in%20animals%20or%20humans.
"Death follows minutes to hours after exposure to a small amount of this toxin." As the weather gets hotter, ponds can start to have "algae blooms." The water itself can look like pea soup, or like green paint is spread on the surface of the water. Sometimes it is not visible at all. Some of these blooms are cyanobacteria, which can produce potent toxins. Dogs are exposed when they wade in the water and either drink the water directly, or lick it off themselves when they come out. There is no antidote; treatment is supportive and many dogs don't survive. If you believe your dog has been exposed, bathe him immediately. If he has any symptoms, bring him right in to a veterinarian. See comments for more information about signs and treatment. (Most ponds that look like this are not dangerous, but it is not possible to tell which ones are toxic and which ones aren't except by having the water tested; If in doubt, keep pets out.) Edited to add links to more pond phots.

Someone passed this onto us and we thought it was a great idea to share.
With the 4th of July right around the corner we tend to get several calls about dogs getting out, and owners frantically trying to find them. We ask that you make sure your dogs have their collars on, updated contact information on their licenses, or do something similar to the picture below !

We love our community fur babies and want to make sure they are safe! 🐾💕

Ring your doorbell on your way to bed at night. This will clear the dogs off your bed long enough for you to get in and get comfortable....and some happy pups doing their job.

From all of us at Pawsatively Sweet, we wish you a happy Valentine's Day!

Here are five amazing Valentine's Day activities to strengthen your bond with your pet.

1. Host a Doggie Valentine’s Day Photo Shoot
Break out the festive props like tutus, wings, headbands and backdrops for a special photoshoot with your pet. Arm yourself with plenty of treats to get their attention and cute poses. Take things up a notch by getting semi-professional with lighting and filters. Set up for the perfect capture by having them sit, stay, smile or offer a high-five or paw shake. You’ll cherish these memories and photos for years to come.

2. Bake Heart-Shaped Treats Together
Cooking up homemade goodies with your dog by your side is a delightfully delicious activity. Let your sous chef lick the bowl clean after. Consider baking a bigger batch to share with other pets or local shelters too. The treats will be extra special knowing they were made with love and sampling from your furriest family member.

3. Play Fun Games for Prizes
Set up a game zone in your home or yard to get your dog’s brain going and bring smiles all around. Try playing “red light, green light” by calling out colors, and rewarding with treats when they stop and go. Or hide heart-shaped toys around the house and prompt them to “find it” for a searching game. The more creative you get with fun games, the more stimulating it will be for your pup.

4. Make Paw-Friendly Valentine’s Day Crafts
You may make paw print paintings using non-toxic paint. Decorate frames with their paw print and add favorite photos of you two together. Get crafty with homemade dog scarves or bandanas decorated with fabric markers, glue-on rhinestones or stitching their name. Or create cute DIY doggie Valentine’s Day cards adorned with their paw print, nose print or photo.

5. Cuddle Up for a Movie Marathon
Pick a few feel-good flicks and get ready for an indulgent relaxation fest. Make some popcorn for yourself and prep tasty snacks or a long-lasting chew for your pup. Deck out the ultimate movie-watching spot with blankets, pillows and stuffed toys. A movie marathon makes a perfect relaxing cap for your Valentine’s Day celebration.

As we reflect on 2023, we’ve had some highs and some lows. No doubt, you also. It’s been a quiet year for us. Our personal loss was the hardest, and I still struggle with it every day. Lucy and Lily, our inspiration for Pawsatively Sweet, will be forever missed.

But our bright spots are you and your pets! Thank you for letting us be part of your lives and sharing with us your joy. We love the stories , the love and celebrating your milestones with you with each creation.

May we look forward to a brighter future. Here’s to all of you for a bright and happy 2024! Happy New Year!

From all of us, we wish you and yours the very best of the holiday season!
