Soon shelters and rescues will be inundated with with cats and kittens. Some healthy, some sick, some dying. How can YOU help?

🔹 If you find kittens, reach out immediately for assistance, but offer to keep them until the shelter or rescue has time to make a plan. They are more likely to help you, if they can, if you give them a little time to prepare.

🔹 Do not remove young kittens from their mom! If the kittens look healthy, the mom is around even if you don't see her. Leave the kittens alone unless they are skinny, dirty or cold. But keep a lookout. You'll need to trap mom when the kittens are a little older and are able to eat on their own (and rescue the kittens), unless you have the knowledge and are prepared to take care of them earlier.

🔹 Offer to foster! Don't complain about your shelter if you are not willing to help your shelter.

🔹 Look up trap neuter return programs in your area to see what's available. If no programs exist, borrow or buy a trap. Check to see if there is low-cost spay/neuter in your area. All adult cats, male or female, pregnant or not, NEED to be spayed or neutered.

🔹 Donate to your local rescues or shelters. This time of year is VERY expensive for them. They go through a lot more supplies and vet bills are more extensive.

🔹 Be an advocate for spay and neuter! Help to educate the general public by sharing informative posts and letting people know resources available for them locally.

Today's the DAY for these lucky kitties! Thank you Ellen Quinlan and Darbster for this wonderful opportunity to give Luna and Noodles a great life in a loving, indoor home. 2 less homeless kitties! I made a commitment to Lourdes Perez that I would help her and I honored that commitment. Blaze, Luna, Noodles are all rescued now!!! 😻😻😻

From a kitten wracked with mange and on death's door to the precious fur ball on the right. He will be ready for his furever home in a couple weeks. Baby Sylvester is a love bug. ❤️

Here's a video of little Sylvester. He's 3 months old, wracked with mange and is recovering from the mange thanks to Ivermectin. He's one of the lucky ones. 😻❤️😻
