The holidays come with a number of risks for pets. Rather than dashing to the vet, spend a few moments pet proofing your tree:
-Avoid putting tempting gifts with food in them out until the last minute.
-Keep ornaments high and out of reach of curious paws.
-Have a real tree? Don't put additives in the water that thirsty pets may taste.
-Do you love tinsel and ribbon? Feisty little felines do also. These can quickly become foreign bodies when ingested.
-Holiday plants that are toxic include poinsettias, holly, mistletoe and even pine. Keep these away from those 4-legged wonders.
Christmas is coming! Is your pet ready?
Keep your pet jolly by keeping these foods out of their bowl... sweet snacks, fatty trimmings, bones, onions, garlic spices, macademia nuts and walnuts, and bread dough. These are a few of the Christmas goodies that come with risks for your pet. Have questions? Give us a call at (785)448-6454. Let's make this year a happy howl-iday for all!
