Hi! It’s MaeBelle here to wish you a happy Howl-a-ween from the cutest pup-kin in the patch. (Mom says I’m
a haunt mess 😉). While you’re out trick or treating with your best ghoul-friends here are a few tips to keep your Spook-tacular pets safe:
🎃paws off the treats. Not all candy is safe for pets.
🎃Collar’s on with all the bling bling. Pets need ID in case they get scared by all the fa-boo-lous costumes and dart out the door.
🎃did I say dart 😳! Some pets are overstimulated by all the paw-sitively re-bark-able costumes. Give them a safe place to stay. A quiet room with mood music to block out all the knocking and noises works best to keep them safe.

Ps. If you happen to see Count Barcula…tell him to give me a howl.🐾🤪🎃

*EDIT: both cats were adopted!

These 2 sweethearts are now available for adoption. The orange kitty is a neutered male approximately 1-2years old and the white/tabby is a spayed female approximately 5-6years old. Our orange guy was a little nervous when he first came but now is a purr-machine who always wants attention. Our sweet female is a biscuit maker who was spayed prior to being arrested. Price of adoption is simply a rabies vaccine! Come on in and take a peek at these wonderful kitties. ACARF, Prairie Paws and Always and Forever are full and no longer able to help us so a shelter is not an option.

Today was an awesome day! Duke rang the bell on heartworms! Duke has undergone heartworm treatment for the last 4 months and can officially return to normal activity today. He is heartworm free and an official heartworm survivor.

We have a lot of babies looking for a home! First 2 pictures are cats that got arrested and are looking for their owners. Last 3 pictures are amazing kittens (all boys) looking for their forever homes. They are weaned and ready to go. Shelters are full so they are just hanging out waiting for someone to love them and take them home. 😍

Recent news stories have lead to several questions about leptospirosis in canines. Below is a little information to help our clients better understand:

Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease spread through the urine of infected animals. It can be transmitted from animals to humans. The disease lives in soil, water, or food contaminated with urine from infected animals, including raccoons and skunks. It can be fatal for both dogs and humans.

The leptospirosis vaccine is the number one way to help protect your dog and yourself. We consider lepto a core vaccine, and it is given yearly to help keep everyone safe. All lepto vaccines are not equal. Our vaccine includes 4 different types of lepto to ensure your pet is protected. Because some vaccines only have 1 type of lepto, it is important to make sure that you are using a 4 way lepto vaccine and vaccinating yearly to ensure protection if you perform your own vaccinations.

Update: as of this time, this young lady is up for adoption. Her owners have not been found and she has been here a while. Shelters are full so looks like she will be hanging out here until she finds a new home.

This little lady is missing her owner. She is around 2-3years old, intact and microchipped. Unfortunately the microchip is not registered. Tag someone who might be missing her and let’s get her home! (Also loves peanut butter 😂)

One of our favorite days is the Anderson County Pet Show! This year was smoking 🔥🥵🔥 but we had some amazing kiddos show up with their favorite pets. They were smart, cute and fun to watch! The Anderson County Fair Pet Show is right around the corner and we are looking forward to seeing what this year brings! Join us Thursday at 1:00pm at the Arena. All kids and all pets welcome. Registration begins at 12:30pm. Categories include Owner-Pet Look-a-like, Showmanship and Obedience. Prizes will be awarded in each category.

Why Sentinel Spectrum?? There are lots of different options for heartworm prevention. We recommend Sentinel Spectrum because it deworms monthly for heartworms, hookworms, roundworms and tapeworms. Not all preventatives are created equally! Know what your preventative takes care of before you buy it. 💙❤️♥️

Why does your pet need a dental? Some dogs develop gingival hyperplasia where the gum tissue grows over the top of teeth leading to tartar buildup, bad breath and trouble eating. We can help! Dental cleaning and removal of hyperplasia changes everything 😀! (Check the comments for the after picture!)
